tried a reinstall of W7 (was going to perform it anyway as wanted to swap back to 32 bit edition)

and content all plays (Nvidia 9400 integrated)

but its shifted too high, and bottom 1/3 is corrupt, like very large pixels - top 2/3 is fine

very odd

Yes, but why did you create it in the first place - advancesetting xmls are not provided by default in the xbmc application, but have to be created by the user. Are you saying that the file had to be created to achieve playback of both 720p and 1080p content.

Is this on board graphics - if so, I had a similar problem with the on board HD3200 graphics on the Asus M3A78-EMH-HDMI board. Until I added the HD4670 to the mix, no matter what I tried the HD3200 just wasn't up to the task of playing HD content.

Latest build available still not good with ATI 4890, Catalyst 10.1 and W7 x64. Some 720p files play, almost all 1080p files crash XBMC.

right here

83. {5A54A0C9-C7EC-4BD9-8EDE-F3C75DC4393B}: Format(In/Out)=(S342,UNKNOWN) Frames(Prev/Fwd/Back)=(0,0,0) Caps=
84. DDraw Status: Enabled
85. D3D Status: Enabled
86. AGP Status: Enabled

between line 83 and 84 you are missing D3D9 overlay and DXVA-HD

Of course DXVA2 is supported on Vista and Windows 7. What I mean is DXVA-HD is supported only in Windows 7.

well not to achieve playback, but to achieve smooth playback, i forgot who, but one xbmc dev told me to create that file.

and 3200 is fine for HD playback when DXVA coding becomes more mature, i know since it works well with ffdshow DXVA. XBMC DXVA simply needs a bit more work.

and from the look of it it is only supported on nvidia cards.

I have 3 systems
one with GTX 280 = and it has DXVA-HD
one with geforce8200 = and it has DXVA=HD
one with Radeon3200 (HTPC) = and it doesn't have DXVA-HD

DXVA-HD is NOT required

But what relevance does that have in this context. onomatopellan has already stated that DXVA-HD is only available in Win 7 and I'm running Vista x86, therefore I presume it is unlikely that there will be any entry. I believe that in the context of these builds we are talking about DXVA 2

elupus, had you had time to look at my xbmc debug log?

Only happens on AVC material, other than that it's looking really good. Win7 x64, Nvidia 8800GTS 512Mb.

Has anyone else seen that issue?

Me too! Sad

Win 7 x64
Nvidia 8500GT.

Yea, didn't say anything sadly

- elupus - 2010-02-08

Those of you that get that small sized playback. What happens if you change zoom or aspect ratio during playback?

ATI HD4890 (latest drivers)

I have to ask, if you are running a Core i7 920, why do you need DXVA? I have a 920 @ 4ghz and it isn't breaking a sweat with 1080p. Just curious.
