Did you install crystalHD r171?

I tried it on and off with a 720P video, and I could see the difference, thanks for that.

My crystalHD version is r156. How can I install r171?

I really do not know.
I have tried to install the script on the top of page 23 but it does not work.

Hi Patrics83,

I think that is a little packing failure in the file "crystalhd-20101009.tar.gz". If you unpacking it you see a folder /crystalhd-20101009 and not like with andy204's file, the folders /system and /usr

I think the Script it is not explained.

there is not much to explain.
1) he could have asked me if its ok to use my script
2) the script is a bit documented
2a) its not documented how to use standard unix commands
3) its not good to show people other ways to install the driver in THIS thread
3a) i dont want to fix issues later on, when i release a new driver/lib
4) i am really overworked right now and maybe acting like an idiot. could be.

Hi

I followed the instructions on this thread and everything works sweet. I have a BCM -xxxx15 card. Thank you so much to the developers. Is there anyway I can contribute to them? I am from australia so maybe paypal is the best option.

Thanks

hey,

i think the best you can do is to donate on the xbmc project. http://xbmc.org/contribute/donate/

i am happy that people use my install script for an easy driver installation

You can also donate directly to davilla via http://code.google.com/p/crystalhd-for-osx/ and clicking on the "donate" link on the right hand menu Smile

I did, and it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside knowing that he was going to use that money towards getting drunk, picking up a hooker and getting herpes or gonorrhea Smile

- andy204 - 2010-10-17

look in the settings if there is a crystalhd option. (i think its in Video Settings). if you have a crystalhd option there, then it works.

No I don't have that option. I see the crystalhd download opton in loader but when I dl it, does it automatically install?

- andy204 - 2010-10-18

yes. it does autmatically install.

do you have a crystalhd card installed?

I finally am getting ready to install the Crystal HD card ( have had it for ages but ...). Information here is scattered all over the place and it's hard to know what the latest is. Do we need your script to get the drivers properly installed or just the latest version of the Launcher? That is, is this thread the easiest way ( the first post) to install the drivers or is there a new way? I am talking about installing under ATV OSX.

It would be nice to have a sticky with some basic info, since these threads are quite long and scattered.

I am not interested in 1080p. Just 720p. Is there any reason not to use OSX ( as opposed to Linux)?

Which option is that? I see XBMC 9.11 and an svn release. Is the svn release what you are referring to?

Where do I get crystalhd-for-osx-3.8.0.zip that is labeled on Google Code but cannot be downloaded (Google says file not found)? Anyone knows? I saw in the change list that a number of important bugs have been fixed in 3.8 and wanted to upgrade from 3.6. Thanks in advance.
