Thanks - Hudson_Hawk04 - 2010-12-02

Just wanted to take a minute and say thanks for all your work with this project. You have made the install/setup really straight forward, I can now say that the last of my trusty xboxes have been retired, I now have HD capability in my bedroom. Thank you so much.

I assume you are talking about installing it on the appletv. All you have to do is SSH into the Appletv and then do that command on the first post that starts with defaults. Then it will be in the Downloads section of Launcher, the same place you installed xbmc from. If you are on Windows, use PuTTY to ssh in. Just type in the IP of your appletv and make sure connection type is set to ssh. Can't get much easier than that!

Anyone able to provide a code/terminal command for adding the r26 CrystalHD driver to Launcher? I've got r156 and r174 added, but would like to roll back to r26 the easy way!

Thanks
Andrew

Does anybody uses an BCM70010 card? Is this card supported at all?

I installed r174 succesfully.

Code:
BroadcomCrystalHD::start
crystalhd_hw_open: setting up functions, device = Link
Starting Crystal HD BCM70012 Device
Opening HW. hw:0x237c604, hw->adp:0x221cd00
BroadcomCrystalHD: Found HW and started driver SW.
-bash-2.05b$

after launching XBMC 10.0 Dharma dmesg says:

Code:
Opening new user[0] handle
crystalhd_hw_open: setting up functions, device = Link
Starting Crystal HD BCM70012 Device
Opening HW. hw:0x2376c04, hw->adp:0x221cd00

I have the option for hardware acceleration in XBMC.
After playing a video log shows:

Code:
-bash-2.05b$ grep -i crystal /Users/frontrow/Library/Logs/xbmc.log
23:54:00 T:51801088 M: 18518016   DEBUG: CDVDFactoryCodec: compiled in hardware support: VDADecoder:yes CrystalHD:yes OpenMax:no
-bash-2.05b$

there is no difference in CPU usage compared to non CrystalHD usage

Any suggestions?

Does the driver also support the bcm970015? I have the 0012 working currently.

THanks!!

you can download the old driver, but you have to find out yourself howto install. i think this one is r26. no idea if it is really r26..

Doesn't seem to work for me... I have Apple TV 160 with BCM970015 installed.

- I added the line and installed the 1.3 mb file.
- Started XBMC.
- Tried a file, but still choppy as hell.
- Looked at system and video settings. No word about Crystal HD.

Any ideas what can be wrong? Did I forget something or is my Crystal card defective?

- bleze - 2011-01-15

Turns out I installed 174 which didn't work. Now I have 156 which works Smile Awesome!

Thanks Andy!

That's weird as 156 does not have the 0015 support that is what r174 is for?
