So you are using the team-xbmc/ppa aren't you. While that is current it is not the same as nightlies which are in team-xbmc/unstable.

PPA = 10.1 Dharma
UNSTABLE = 11 Eden

I installed the repo of alaska when XBMC 10 stable came out. Today did the update to 10.1. So i have no nightly.
Repo only for nightly's?

Moved to separate thread.

- AaronD - 2011-04-21

Yes, as per thread title you need a nightly from 18/4 in order to use the latest version from Hitcher's repo.

Ahh owk, thx. I'm sorry guys.

Is there a PPA which provides a suitable nightly build? apt-get upgrade is a lot quicker than building from source on an Ion box...

- Spaggi - 2011-04-24

Hey Hitcher,

can you show me where to edit the Alaska skin so that home menu buttons, e.g. "TV series" links to a Smart Playlist?

Cheers,

Axel

And isn't it better to leave TV Show button how it is and enable/create Custom item from Alaska setting menu and assign Smart playlist to it? You don't need edit anything.

build on a different machine and package a .deb with checkinstall: http://www.asic-linux.com.mx/~izto/checkinstall/

or you can try a prebuilt .deb from http://sshcs.com/xbmc/?mode=BV
though i haven't ever tried it for linux, only windows back in the day.

Why not just use the unstable ppa here: ppa:team-xbmc/unstable

It would be easier, but I cannot press "down" on these custom items. I need that functionality and if I keep the TV series with all the series undifferentiated by smart playlists, it would mess with my fiance's head! Rolleyes

I don't know if you spotted this thread which seems to be slightly more uptodate with studio flags.

Did the same cause I don't want to have the kids stuff within my shows.

You have to change to lines within the Includes_HomeDefault.xml

Search for some lines like these (line 256 ~)

Code:
<item id="10">
    <label>20343</label>
    <icon>$INFO[Control.GetLabel(3009)]</icon>
    <!-- <onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoLibrary,tvshowtitles,return)</onclick> -->
    <onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoLibrary,special://profile/playlists/video/TV-Serien.xsp,return)</onclick>
    <visible>!Skin.HasSetting(NoTVShows) + !Skin.HasSetting(HomeReturnOff)</visible>
</item>
<item id="10">
    <label>20343</label>
    <icon>$INFO[Control.GetLabel(3009)]</icon>
    <!-- <onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoLibrary,tvshowtitles)</onclick> -->
    <onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoLibrary,special://profile/playlists/video/TV-Serien.xsp)</onclick>
    <visible>!Skin.HasSetting(NoTVShows) + Skin.HasSetting(HomeReturnOff)</visible>
</item>

As you can see, these lines are changed by me. I kept the original ones by commenting them out.

Hi Hitcher.
Your last version doesnt have polish fonts.
Earlier versions (pre 2.x i suppose) had these fonts.
Is it possible to bring them back?
Thx

- Hitcher - 2011-04-26

I haven't touched the fonts; are you sure you haven't changed to a different set?
