is there anyway to always leave the OSD always on when playing any type of file?

- Hitcher - 2011-11-21

The OSD for what - music or video?

- eldelxl - 2011-11-22

for both... meaning that when you play eithe music or a video the osd would stay on..

- Hitcher - 2011-11-22

Press i.

- eldelxl - 2011-11-23

Right, but after pressing "i", the info will show but after a short period of time, it'll disapper. I want it to always show, so for example, if i was to press "i", the info will show and stay until i press "i" again. Is it possible to do that? or am I asking for too much from the skin?

- Hitcher - 2011-11-23

By pressing i you toggle through three different settings - off, temporary, and on.

Does anyone know how to add movie artwork to alaska skin on apple tv? I've tried doing the auto search which didn't work and adding the jpeg files in the folder, which also did not work.

Hey,

Been playing with the skin today as I was curious as to how it's come along. Really quite impressed at its progress. Looks very sleek...

I have a few quick questions that I was unable to resolve and hope someone can help me out...

When pressing "down" on the "Music" menu on the home screen and navigating to "Music Add-Ons" and pressing ok. I am greeted with my music library? Which is empty, as I don't have any music in it, however I see no reason why this should stop me accessing my plugins? Any ideas?

Also,
Is it possible to change the default images that are attached to the default icons for the menus on the home screen?
The skin is very beautiful, sleek and simple and I find the default home screen images for each option (Music/Movies/etc) to be quite distracting for the simplicity of this skin and would like to add in something simpler such as basic images of a "Film Stip" or "Head Phones" etc as an image Into these default icons.

I did try change the view but found the default style to look/feel the best overall but was just not overly convinced with the wallpapers used within those default buttons.

Other than that, it looks and feels great! Very pretty indeed.

Thanks again,
Pat~

Cheers Hitcher,

I just went in and replaced them manually (overwrote the origonals) as you were posting that Smile but now I know for next time as its cleaner doing it via the OSD be allows me to revert easier.

Any idea why my music addons option doesn't work? It just takes me to music library?

Cheers,
Pat~

Do you have any Music Addons installed?

- dajoip - 2011-12-05

I installed this recently and I'm just loving it. Quick question - I have folders with multiple hi-resolution images to be displayed for each category on the home screen (Movies, TV Shows, Music, etc.), so I've enabled the "Multi Image" option in Settings --> Alaska --> Home Artwork and browsed to each appropriate folder. Is there a way to change the cycle time, so it doesn't scan through these quite so quickly?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Hitcher,

Yea, I've gt a few addons in my music section... Smile

I've got no music library though, as I mainly stream my music/radio online...

However, when I scroll down to "Music Add-Ons" on the main menu, it takes me to "library" even though I have no library and was trying to get to my addons?

Pressing left on "Music Library" and then setting it To "files mode" allows me to then view files and the "Add-Ons" option, which allows me to get to my addons, however once I exit from there I am force to repeat the procedure every time I wish to view my addons?

Currently my esiest way to get to my addons is to select files mode from the music main menu, which is fine, but ideally I'd like to use the "Add-Ons" option if possible.

Bizarrely "Music" seems to do this by default even when I select the default "Music" option from the home screen main menu, when infact I would expect it to take me to files view as I have no music library...

Any ideas?

Thanks again,
Pat~

I didn't code a backup in case there was no music library.

C&P the code from the following link into the Includes_HomeDefault.xml

Hey Hitcher,

Will do, I'll copy it over and will report back with how it goes...

Thanks again for your support,
Really appreciate it,
Pat~
