So cycling through the viewtypes doesn't change anything?

- alexandergoll - 2011-01-02

In my music library i am actually in library mode (database mode)

The selected viewmode is Files. I cannot switch it (won't even cycle)

On the right side it shows "Genre,Title, Album,..." and i am able to select music through that.

- daviduco - 2011-01-02

Nope, it doesn't cycle, i don't have more viewtypes just those mentioned before.

- nicx76 - 2011-01-02

me too, i have only 1 viewtype in the music library section. i always thought that this is a "feature" Wink

nicx...

Uhm, it's the Alaska Revisited Mod the one that's not working for me. I installed it directly from XBMC skin browser (it downloads and installs the skin).

In the root you only have Files mode (for now at least) but in Albums, Artists, etc there are more.

Update time - Hitcher - 2011-01-02

Lots of changes this time around including the addition of the unicode fonts from Alaska Revisited Mod as default.
The reason for this is to have only one version making it easier for me to update.
The Mod version will be removed from the official repo to be replaced with this one (minus the original fonts).
To use the original fonts simply change them in the Appearance settings of XBMC.
When the time comes for this to go on the official repo you'll need to come here and get the download link for the fonts.

I'll need plenty of testing from you guys to make sure everything is aligned correctly using the default fonts as well.

Just ran an update and noticed that "Music" is displayed although it is marked hidden in Alaska preferences.
Home screen images and text seem to be somewhat bigger than before, on the other hand the effects when switching through the items on the home screen are snappier now.

- Hitcher - 2011-01-03

OK, I can see this going to cause confusion so I'll keep using the original fonts as default for my repo version.

Also, I'm using the 'Home hide options' from the old Alaska so you can't hide Music, Movies or TV Shows - this is the best compromise for the time being.

- rickardkk - 2011-01-03

Can 2.2.0 be downloaded via your repo?
Says 2.1.2 here

- Hitcher - 2011-01-03

You'll need to 'Force Refresh' the repo as XBMC only checks a couple of times a day for updates.

- t2ffn - 2011-01-03

Tried updating the skin, got an "update failed" instantly, and a downloading 0% dialog on screen, left it to see its if changed, now just a solid white screen... uh oh.

Do I need to be in another skin to update Alaska similar to old MQ2?

Cheers

- t2ffn - 2011-01-03

I had to log into my XBMC box, delete Alaska skin folder, reboot in Confluence and resinstall. Only took couple mins but if anyone else freezes up or crashes this fixed it for me.

- Hitcher - 2011-01-03

This is a know XBMC bug when updating the skin you are currently using.

It's best to switch skins first and then update.

I love the new views. Everything looks great for the time being.

I just don't understand all this talk about the fonts. It is, indeed, confusing
