Dear Spbogie: Thanks! - Mr.Durham - 2011-08-08

Dear Spbogie, jurmb84, smorloc, and htpc_guy:

Thank you for the work you did to make this add-on available for xbmc.

We have three kids and life is busy. Life gets busy and you forget to notice the things that are important. This afternoon, our girls were being crazy (in the good, ordinary way), the house was a mess (in the lived-in, ordinary way), and my wife and I were hustling about the house trying to get ready for the new week. I took a fifteen minute break to tinker with our new ATV2. I installed your Pandora add-on and selected my favorite station.

Then it happened.

Our 'song' came on. The girls started dancing quietly. I looked toward the kitchen and there was my wife looking at me with tears in her eyes. We danced for the first time in months. We have a great marriage and we count our blessings every day. Today I got to hold my wife and spend five minutes remembering that our song is about the beauty of a messy house, silly kids, and piles of dirty laundry. That moment would not have happened if you had not spent hours and hours and hours sharing your gifts with a community of people who will never meet each other in person.

So, thank-you.

is it just me or can you not create new stations through the script

Does this work for Dharma and Eden? I installed on a Dharma machine running Neon and it can never seem to Fetch the keys.

I haven't been able to either, perhaps it will be implemented in future releases?

Is this compatible with Nightlies?
Cause I am having trouble getting it working with the nightly July 31st build and Aeon Nox 2.0

Failed to authenticate listener.
Check username/password and try again.
Show settings?

I am 100% sure I typed it in right cause I did it a dozen times on the script and in the browser/phone.

With Dharma I had it working of course...So if it isn't supported any chance of doing so?

Can someone confirm that this will all still work in portable mode with the out of the box install? Had this working once by manually copying down the keys but it has never automatically done this.

I can't get this to work on a 2nd run unless I delete key_in and key_out in XBMC\userdata\addon_data\script.xbmc.pandora runs the first time no problem, however for every subsequent run i need to delete those 2 files.

Using version 1.2.3 of Pandora and 20110812 of XBMC

I'm also having a vary hard time navigating. If it minimize the Pandora screen for the visualizer I can't find a reliable way to get back to the pandora screen. I would expect hitting back would do it or info twice maybe?

thought I saw somewhere that pandora was gonna get an overhaul.

This worked for me - k3vmcd - 2011-08-13

uschxc Wrote:I had to update the PROTOCOL_VERSION varialbe in libpandora/pandora.py to 31 for this to work. I just started using the plugin today, july 9th, so pandora might have recently updated as I don't see any updates here pertaining to PROTOCOL_VERSION 31, but that fixed the login failure issue for me.

i'm on the latest repository provided build of xbmc on ubuntu

Took me forever to find this. Changing the PROTOCOL_VERSION to 31 worked.

Path to pandora.py on Linux:
"~/.xbmc/addons/script.xbmc.pandora/libpandora/pandora.py"
(use without quotes in terminal)

I am having issues running this on a windows 7 x64 htpc running the latest nightly. PW and username are 100% correct. Protocol is set to 31....not to sure Sad

rvas18, check your firewall.

I have windows firewall turned of. the computer is hardlined into my router. Is there a specific port that this script requires to be opened?

- spbogie - 2011-08-17

rvas18,
Hmm, the error that is being returned is Windows refusing to open the socket connection. That should be a standard http connection on port 80. If the firewall is truly disabled then the only other (probably not very helpful) suggestion I can think of is to restart the computer.

Have previous versions of the script worked?
