you sure it doesn't take some time to go fullscreen? can you hear audio eariler than you see video?

You say doesn't seem to matter what video.. I only see dvd in your log, but it applies to other things aswell?

I actually know what it is now.. We are doing forward seeks when resuming playback (looking for next keyframe instead of last). So that would have this effect. Will correct when i get the time.
