Simple is my favorite too, but I think that some of the fonts are too small.
Are they like dynamically re-sized depending on the resolution?
And why does it have to be "Watch your movies!" Is someone ordering me to watch or yelling at me? How would it look without exclamation mark?

Thought the tabbed upper menu was a good suggestion, and it having it stay tabbed based on what section you're in...but your guys call in the end

I think the sub menus should stay hidden, as I dont use them often enough (EDIT: Unless you mean they only become visible at the top if the user does the up arrow...).
I did a mock up of tab designs.
I actually like the Arrow version my self, it also means that the user knows to use up arrow for the sub menu...

In case you hadn't noticed I'm using dynamically spaced labels for the menus so images are a no-go.

I did a really basic mockup of your sneak peak. I removed the "Watch your..." and replaced it with the fanart of the current selected movie. Besides that I used the freed space on the left for one more movie poster on the right. I think you get the idea.

It's nice but in my opinion it takes away the clean, spacey feeling. Not that it matters anyway what i think. I say, let's let Hitcher do his work. I'm sure most of us will be pleased in the end. I know i would be pissed after a while when everybody comes with suggestions. It's impossible to please everyone.

What pettson3816 said it loses that clean professional looking feel when u put fan-art in there.
What I would like to see in this skin is an option to toggle video playback controls bottom/top because often they cover my subtitles when on bottom.
