I just installed XBMC and subtitles addon to my main PC and it worked like a charm. So I looked into setting on my media-center and found that there's a proxy enabled. So I killed the bastard viciously and saved subtitles, you and the whole Universe, yay!

I don't know if anyone met this issue before (71 pages are a lot to read) but I have an issue getting subtitles when either the folder or the name contain a whitespace.
All my movies and tv shows are available via a samba share: for movies without whitespaces, I can download the subtitle and use it (even if the plugin warns me it will be saved to a temporary location but that's normal, I haven't enabled write access to samba yet), but whenever a whitespace is involved, the plugin just gets stuck on "Downloading subtitles".
The log reports this:

I have:
- ATV2 with XBMC with a smb connection with login/password to my Time Capsule for my movie library
- Subtitle addon enabled
Problem:
- When i search for the subs, i can see the results but i cant download the file to the movie folder... seems to me that i cant open RAR or ZIP file from ATV or i don't heave enough privileges to write a file in the time capsule
- any solution?

difficult to say, all I can see is that you are using python2.7. this was done and tested only on XBMC internal python which is 2.4.

subtitles addon doesnt work on Mediastream - vampyra - 2011-01-27
Hello friends! I hope this hasnt been asked before, but here are a LOTTTT of pages to read so im gonna ask anyway.
I cant seem to make the subtitle addon to work on the Mediastream Redux skin that im using. I've done everything correctly, but there is NO option to enable at the Addons (there is the Music OSD, but no Video OSD at all)... is this a known issue? I tried it with another skin and it worked just fine, but so far the MediaStream is the only that that meets my demands exactly, and i cant seem to make the subtitles addon work.
Any idea if this is an issue that's gonna be fixed? Is there a workaround perhaps? Thanks in advance.

i have ATV2 connected to NAS via RJ45 - issue is with subtitles addon ( downloading from NAPIPROJEKT - polish / english )
momentarily after clicking icon - it gives me error (only with this site - all others addicted, podnapisi etc.. are downloading ok):
Error: 'str' object has no attibute 'hexdigest'
ideas whats the issue ?

its a skin issue, in this case Mediastream Redux.
if you even looked in the Mediastream skin section you would have seen the post about it
