No Reboot / Shutdown on pressing reboot / shutdown-buttons - netdive - 2010-06-16 Hey all, I have a strange problem with my XBMC (R28042) on Ubuntu Minimal 10.04 (Lucid). After I tried to install a svn-build, the function for reboot / shutdown doesn't work like I guess (that only xbmc quits and the tty-loginscreen is active). When I press the buttons for shutdown / reboot its quit XBMC and restart it immediately. The suspend-button has no function, but this doesn't interesst.... How can I fix my button-problem? And is the XBMC-Version realy up-to-date? Or did I some misstakes on installing XBMC from svn? here a summary of my installation-way: install xbmc like it is describe in this HOW-TO for Ubuntu minimal but change the repo to ppa:team-xbmc-svn/ppa after this I tried to make an svn build: get sources via svn, install some tools which are needed according to the booth readmes in the svn-folder ./bootstrap ./configure make make install is this procedure right? thx for some helpfull answers bye... netdive pressing reboot / shutdown-buttons - rvrutten - 2010-06-17 Have the same problem. When I press the buttons for shutdown / reboot its quit XBMC and restart it immediately. This is what is did before it started happening: Updated via de XBMC SVN PPA Karmic and updated the XBMC live CD Camelot to Linux 2.6.31-16 and XBMC PRE-10.5 r28256 (Compiled March 1 2010). Hopefully someone can help us fix this. - neil.j1983 - 2010-06-17 http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=75565 have you tried that? or better yet, post a log for the devs. - rvrutten - 2010-06-17 neil.j1983 Wrote:http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=75565 Thanks for the info. Tried it, but doesn't work Here the only info i could get from the xbmc.log. As it doesn't crach, no crashlog is available. Code: 12:59:30 T:3077625728 M:1423577088 DEBUG: LIRC: Update - NEW at 41489:000000037ff07bdd 00 OK mceusb (OK) If the reboot or shutdown is activated from XBMC, a small black X (mouse cursor) appears and XBMC is restarted. Something tells me this could be caused by Xserver/X11. Tried diffrent Nvidia drivers, but didn't help either. Fixed! - rvrutten - 2010-06-19 Fixed it for shutdown and reboot; PHP Code: [Actions for xbmc user] Paste the above text into sudo nano /var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/custom-actions.pkla then I sudo apt-get remove policykit-1 sudo apt-get remove devicekit-power then reboot. For the Exit button; gives me weird green blue and red stripes. - neil.j1983 - 2010-06-19 The stripes happened to me when I upgrade nvidia drivers without removing the old ones properly. Since then I have always installed the nvidia beta ones on a fresh system (no previous nvidia drivers, ever). Solved my issues. - rvrutten - 2010-06-19 neil.j1983 Wrote:The stripes happened to me when I upgrade nvidia drivers without removing the old ones properly.
