Hi All, today I've noticed a strange bug of CDArt Manager.
When I update my Artist Thumbs via CDArt Manager it creates new Folders with strange names, instead that it save the pictures in the original artist folders?
But it do that only for the Artist Thumbs and the Fanarts. The CD Arts and Album Arts are saved in the correct Artist/Album Folder...
Did I something wrong?
I've already tried to let it scan and create a new database.
But that didn't solved the problem

cdart manager not reading all artists - quigleyb - 2013-06-17
Hi,
I am having a problem with CDART manager. It only seems to be recognising the first about 30 artists in my library. It doesnt seem to read any more artists. All my music is fully and correctly tagged. I have tried rebuilding my music library but when I go into CDart manager and ask it to do any art searches or even list all artists, it still only seems to pick up the first 30 or so artists.
Any ideas why this might be?

This happened to me as well. After running all music thru Picard so it tags with the musicbrainz I'd, it worked.

I'm having a weird issue, I dont know if its related to my scrapping issues which are now semi solved. Here's my post about my scrapping issues if anyone thinks this is related.

But anyway, I was trying to get cdART Manager to work numerous times but it wasn't recognising any of my music, like when I did a search on artists it brought up my list of artists but when I click on any it just searched for a few seconds and then said "No art found, please contribute" etc. I tried this with many artists including very famous ones that I know have art.
Anyway I was trying different settings and tried to Build the database again in background (so I could watch a movie while it was doing it). However when I tried to go back into cdArt Manager it brought up a dialog box saying "Retrieving Music Database" (or something like that). This took ages and I couldn't use XBMC while it was happening... So I went to bed but the next day (after a full day at work) it was still sitting there with this box.
I ended XBMC in task manager, and went back into cdART manager, but the same thing happened. So I ended XBMC again (as this is the only way to get out of it) and this time I went into Add-Ons and uninstalled cdART Manager, and then reinstalled. But the same thing has happened again.
Is there a way to completely clean cdART Manager off my system so I can reinstall a working version again?

From your post on the scraping issue, you mention your using Eden as your version, is this correct? If so, the Eden version of the script is out of date as Fanart.tv has changed its API. The Frodo Version is the only supported version of the script.

Aww damn it. I can't change to frodo yet cause it doesn't have the dual audio feature which is a must have at my place.
Is there a way to do this manually? All the music was scrapped with cdART Manager on the previous install, so all the folders and files should still be there? If I just copied the folder/file structure? Is there a way to get the skin to recognise that the files are there without using the cdART Manager addon directly?
Lots of work for me I know going back and forth between my music collection and fanart.tv but I guess its my only option I hope?

Amazing add-on, thank you for the work!
Very strange problem here. It started after on a fresh install on my newly built machine.
When I launch the add-on, it launches okay, but then I cannot select anything with a keyboard. I had to enable mouse support, then I could hover over menu items, but it was screwy. When I managed to get a menu to become active, it would not respond to a mouse click and enter on the keyboard.
Any ideas? Im using the latest XBMC, 12.2. The only difference is my old machine was an early build of Frodo.

im usng xbmc 12.2 and have the problem, that no albums or interprets were found with this addon.
All mp3 are tagged with picard.
I have a log file, but its to large for pastebin and xbmclogs.com says my paste contains a phrase that has been censored.
So, what can i do?

I tried a bit of searching but I failed to find answer to my questions, and going through 1800+ posts in this thread will still take me some time
So, can somebody help me with the following:1) Is there a way to set up cdART Manager to download cdARTs to a local folder, the same way as it's done for fanarts, extrafanarts, logos and banners in "Music folder path(for Artwork)? Or the only way it can be configured is to download them to the album folders?
I know it may look strange but I don't mind copying then those files manually to albums as I prefer to have control to anything what happens to my music files. I keep all my music on NAS and simply I don't want to grant write access to any script. I guess that even though downloading to local folder may be technically possible then still it will not be easy to configure the skin to read cdARTs from that folder (I use Aeon Nox), right?
If the skin would be able to read cdARTs from a selected folder this would solve all my problems
- but that's rather a question to Aeon Nox thread, not here.2) Is it possible to configure cdART Manager in a way it downloads all related files when the album/artist is scraped by Universal Artist and Album scrapers or when played back for the first time, without manual executing the script from Programs menu?
3) How to configure XBMC and skins like Aeon Nox to show all downloaded fanarts as a slideshow? I use Artist Slideshow plugin but it downloads its own images, I think.

Just curious when using the scheduler, what does enable schedule cdart manager update do? Does it do the same thing as when I manually go in and select advanced then update database? Because I need to do that for music artists to be added to cdart.
I am adding new artists and hoping the scheduler takes care of it since manually operating this can take alot of time, but I am not noticing new artists showing up until i manually go in and update the database.
Perhaps since it takes so long my pc is sleeping during the update if the scheduler does infact update the database.

I have the newest version (3.0.3) and I'm having a hard time finding the option to run CDart Manager in the background. Did this go away? I have a rather big music collection to scan in and my family would be upset with me if I made XBMC unusable for any amount of time...
