Yeh I added the Macgruber file to U:\.

Do I need to add a fake nfo file for the video as well, or will the video alone be ok?

- jmarshall - 2010-08-29

Video files are fine - please do the other thing I ask.

- supertom44 - 2010-08-30

Ok added a folder called test to U:, inside that there is a 0kb mkv file also named test.

Here is a rar which contains the before and after databases. Didn't know where to upload them so used rapidshare if you prefer me to upload them somewhere else let me know.

And just to be 100% clear, you have:

1. The database before you added test.
2. You then added test folder (with it's 0 byte mkv file).
3. You then "Update Library".
4. You then grabbed the database.

The database's from 1 and 4 is what you uploaded?

Cheers,
Jonathan

That is correct yes.

Just to let you know this is still occurring with the new beta build.

Ok I have an update.

Here is what I did, and the debug log to follow, hopefully this may shed some light.

Started xbmc.
Went into smart playlist I created.
Updated library.
New content did not show up.
Went into Video view.
Played one of the new movies just to make sure it was being recognised by xbmc.
Stopped movie.
While in Video view i opened the context menu for my films and clicked "Scan for new content".
This added the new films into the library.

Log: http://pastebin.com/gQkzn7hR

So update library does not work but scan for new content does.

At least its new info hopefully shed some light on whats happening.

I'm having the same problem.....

Code:
19:17:48 T:2756 M:2392965120   DEBUG: VideoInfoScanner: Skipping dir 'M:\' due to no change (fasthash)

It's an external usb drive that sometimes takes a second or two to spin up when accessing through explorer, if that matters at all.

- jmarshall - 2010-09-19

Post the FULL debug log at least otherwise we simply can't tell whether you are having the same problem as is described in this thread.

- Gordonx42 - 2010-09-20

I will post then when I get home tonight. Thanks for the help!

Here's the log: http://pastebin.com/enczzBeC

I've also noticed the new videos appear in the "files" table in the db but they're not being added to "movies". Like above, "Scan for new content" does however work.

- jmarshall - 2010-09-21

What new content had you added prior to running that time?

- Gordonx42 - 2010-09-21

jmarshall Wrote:What new content had you added prior to running that time?

There's a new .mkv file on the M:\ drive. This has been happening for all types of files on that drive.

- Gordonx42 - 2010-09-22

Just a thought, could it be because my movies are saved in the root of the drive? No folder to determine last changed date?

Edit: Nope, just created a folder for the movie and dumped the file there. no dice.

- jmarshall - 2010-09-22

I'm guessing that you had no folders in M: prior to the one you put in it, or do you have <foldername>/VIDEO_TS folders in there?

A listing of exactly what is in M: would be useful. Also, please check the date information on M: before and after you add something new to it. (Right click, Properties from windows explorer). There'll be 3 dates there - see which ones change.

Cheers,
Jonathan
