Automatically scan for new content - rajsharma714 - 2010-08-10

Hello,

I was wondering if there is anyway I can set XBMC to automatically run a scan for new contant instead of me having to manually do it each time to have my new content show up in XBMC.

Thanks.

I'm just a noob here but I think I can help you out.
Start XBMC, go to settings, video, library, and make sure Update Library on Start up is checked.
Every time I add a movie to my collection and I start XBMC it updates automatically.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, but I have XBMC running on a HTPC, and I don't shut down XBMC. I keep it running. So I was wondering if it would be possible to have XBMC update the library automatically every so often WITHOUT having to restart XBMC or boot it back up from shut down.

Right Click (Or that key near "Alt" and "Ctrl") > Update Library.

Yeah, that still requires me to do an input to update my library. I'm looking for a way for XBMC to do it on it's own WITHOUT me having to restart it, or input to update my library.

Yeah, I tried and the post you linked me to didn't show up. What did you search for?

Search term "Update library" and select "Search titles only" Wink
