Currently, there are a few videos that refuse to play because of this protection, unfortunately with more on the way. I don't want to be forced to *shudder* use something like a web browser with a *ugh* flash-player plugin via one of the app launchers... EDIT; Okay, I see the issue. Youtube uses the rtmpe protection protocol for some of their videos. These Youtube videos have been transitioned from Flash Player's "type 9 rtmpe handshake" to the newer "type 10 handshake". The type 10 handshake is currently only supported by the official Adobe Flash Player, and not rtmpdump, etc. So pretty much, there are quite a few YouTube videos not playable unless through the official flash players. Help - atlkidz - 2012-03-05 youtube addon link is broken..anyway to fix this problem - TobiasTheCommie - 2012-03-07 NobodyHere Wrote:I'm not sure if it was already supposed to work, but will this plugin eventually support Youtube videos using RTMPE? Yup, we did have support once. when they used type 9. But it was only a short period. Once rtmpdump get it fixed, we will update our support. - TobiasTheCommie - 2012-03-07 atlkidz Wrote:youtube addon link is broken..anyway to fix this problem http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-ons download video not working - haiiyaa - 2012-03-08 Hi, Just wondering if this is a know problem. I am not able to download youtube videos. I see the message Preparing to download, but nothing after that. Thanks - TobiasTheCommie - 2012-03-08 haiiyaa Wrote:Hi, http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-on:YouTube#Creating_a_usefull_debug_log Downloading - housen - 2012-03-08 I too have the problem where the download doesn't start. It always stays at "preparing download". I can't make a log file right now, but i'll try to post one over the weekend. Is this a general problem ? - haiiyaa - 2012-03-09 I have pasted the logs with the issue of downloading reproduced. here is the link to the logs. http://pastebin.com/ifLD3M2b Thanks again. - wmansir - 2012-03-09 I was using Eden-Beta 3 and noticed the current version from the repo was 2.9.0. I updated to RC2 but it's still only showing 2.9.0. I checked the official repo and that's the latest version in "eden-pre", but "eden" has 2.9.2. So, is my install messed up? Do I have to do something to switch to the "eden" repo? - HenrikDK - 2012-03-09 wmansir Wrote:I was using Eden-Beta 3 and noticed the current version from the repo was 2.9.0. I Think you should take this up with TeamXBMC, we don't control which repo the plugin gets placed into. - TobiasTheCommie - 2012-03-09 haiiyaa Wrote:I have pasted the logs with the issue of downloading reproduced. here is the link to the logs. Huh, i just fixed that bug :/ Not that the fix would actually make the file download(it gets error 403 forbidden from youtube). hmmm. To all of you having problems with the downloader. Try deleting your ~/.xbmc/userdata/Databases/commoncache.db (look in the wiki for paths on OSX/Windows/iOS) and restart xbmc. - wmansir - 2012-03-09 HenrikDK Wrote:I Think you should take this up with TeamXBMC, we don't control which repo the plugin gets placed into. From what I can tell "eden-pre" was frozen weeks ago and, so "eden" is the only place new updates can be placed. Presumable that means RC2 should be using "eden" to get updates, but that's not the case for me. I'm not very familiar with the the XBMC repo system or how they are handling the Eden rollout, so right now I'm trying to find out out if it's just me and other people using RC2 are getting updated to 2.9.2? - vidor - 2012-03-09 TobiasTheCommie Wrote:Huh, i just fixed that bug :/ Yepp this has done trick! Now it is working OK again ! Thank you very much for your work ! - dimzen - 2012-03-10 XBMC-youtube addon was very slow on my Win7-64bit pc (worked fine om my ATV2). Tried reinstall the youtube addon, but that didn't help. So I uninstalled XBMC, delete the program folder and xbmc-folder in AppData. Reinstalled XBMC 11.0 Eden RC2 and the Youtube 2.9.1 addon. But now I can't login to youtube (I use 2-factor authentication) xbmc log is here: http://pastebin.com/24uyszhw (replaced my password with password) |
