i use xbmc as a dashboard, here are my feature suggestions:
ftp client
text editor
chat on xlink kai
filesizes in the file browser
free harddrive space on the main menu (might be just something that can be done with a skin, but i tried it and it didn't work)
dvd player (i can't believe it doesn't already have one..)
more integrated internet stuff.. like email
loading xbe files from a video cd (i know it sounds weird, but you can put files on a vcd and it loads without a modchip.. but you can't start executables)
that's about all i can think of right now.
