Would CEC allow access to the CEC enable TVs on-board usb host?

Eg: If connect a usb pen drive, with some music on it, to my TV usb socket. Could xbmc access/mount that drive, I ask as this limitation on ATV2 usb support.

I don't think so.

No, this is purely an instructional technology, there is no ability to transfer data through it.

libCEC via JSONRPC? - finson - 2011-12-03

Malard: I wrote an RPC library that I'm using to control XBMC. It would be really handy if you could expose a CEC namespace through XBMC JSONRPC. That way a 3rd party app could easily control the CEC network without having to directly access libCEC, which would provide easy language independence.

Thx.

I'm a little late to the thread...

I and a few others worked on an arduino based adapter a year ago.
Archived thread: http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1261237176/all

Current thread: http://arduino.cc/forum/index.php/topic,64834.0.html

Biffidus wrote an XBMC EventClient, though I haven't tried it yet, and it hasn't yet been added to svn.

I built a working adapter myself, some info and pics are here:

Anything new about it (turning on PC when powering on TV)?

Progress on going, but when its ready we will roll the update to all existing adapters

Just ordered one adapter then, hope it'll be added soon.

Suddenly my Samsung Anynet+ had been disabled, I hadn't even touched any settings for this. I have Samsung TV and Samsung 5.1 home cinema system. Now I cannot use my TV remote to turn up sound.

Basically how do I restore Anynet+?

Same thing happened to me 2 days ago. In my remote, I can get to Anynet configuration via the menu, or directly via the "Tools" button, which is on the top left of my directional pad. The thing I have now is an irregular behaviour from my remote and the navigation in Kodi... but I'll create a separate topic for this.

Unplug any CEC devices from the mains for a short while.
It's a log shot, but this has been shown to fix CEC issues multitlple times.
Seems TV's (or other devices) remember some stale CEC settings and don't work again until it's reset.

ha! I thought this was a recent topic. So much for my search skills...
