Hi Tobais, sorry about that I tried to get the log file reduced to just the relevant debug lines but it was a mistake on my part.

I've uploaded a complete log file here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?n5k2qv9o3w87fm7

XBMC's debug is enabled, as is the plugins, however the plugin isn't apparently producing any debug statements.

Thanks.

I've done a bit more testing. I tried the XBMC Live cd running from a USB key, all I've changed on it was to get the WiFi up so I could download the Vimeo plugin, done nothing else to the base live install than that.

Same issues on there, the plugin doesn't let me logon and won't list folders with videos in them. Could this be hardware related? I've tried logging into my Vimeo account via the browser on my laptop and that works ok. I've also installed XBMC on my laptop that's also got arch running and the plugin works ok on there, I can logon to Vimeo and watch videos

Shouldn't be, if anything it would be network related, some firewall or something blocking you connection. Did the live install give you anything in the log?

Be suprised if it's network, the iPlayer plugin works ok as does access to the web for weather and system updates.

I'll try the live USB again later and see if it gives me more in the log, suspect it won't though as it's behaviour is the same as the HD install which doesn't log much of use.

Ok, I've got the XBMC Live iso installed on a USB, booted into that, installed the Vimeo plugin and the Alsaka Revisited skin. I've tried to view a video and to logon and the log file's here:

That's with the plugin debug enabled. Hope it helps shed some new light on the problem.

Sadly that didn't give us anything more, but I've created a special debug version, here:

Just a little warning, this version is very noisy log wise when debug mode is enabled so please uninstall it when you've retested the plugin (with debug enabled ofcourse Smile )

Thanks, that's really good of you, I'll give it a go as soon as I can but that will probably be over the weekend. I'll post back as soon as I've been able to try it.

Hi, sorry for the delay, I've installed the special debug version and run it...behaviour is the same as the repo installed version.

Log file's available here : http://www.mediafire.com/?l3d5xoqpt014kii

Even with the plugin debug enabled there's no DEBUG lines in the log file, do I need to have XBMC's debug enabled too?

Hi, behaviour should be the same as there is no fix "yet" im still trying to figure out whats goind wrong on your machine Smile

Bad news as far as i can tell the log you provided only contained login attempts which contains a logging error, and therefore not telling me where it goes wrong. Could i get you to try video playback with the version you already got while i cook up another one with some better login debugging?

Hmmm....interesting, I've just recreated the Live USB key from the ISO and booted into that. Done nothing more than get the WiFi up, calibrate the screen overscan and install the Vimeo plugin and it's working. I was able to log in to my Vimeo account, watch films etc..all good :-)

I install the Alaska Revisited Mod from the XBMC repo and the Vimeo plugin doesn't appear in the video plug-ins. Reappears when I go back to the default skin. I'll try deleting the .xbmc dir on my HDD install and see if it starts behaving itself again.

Thanks Henrik, sorry I didn't make it clear, I wasn't expecting a fix in the special debug version you kindly rolled me; I was just making sure you knew the behaviour hadn't been changed by the extra debug info.

I removed the ~/.xbmc directory and did the same thing as I did with the Live USB key install...calibrated the screen, installed Vimeo and tried to use it. No luck unfortunately...makes me wonder if it's something in linux build (Arch) or config/setup I've applied to Arch.

I've definitely been wondering the same thing, I run the plugin on both OSX and a minimal ubuntu server installation, and TobiasTheCommie runs it on a 32bit arch linux and FreeBSD and none of us have had any problems.

We both tried installing the Alska revisited mode and couldn't reproduce the behavior you mentioned though.

Make you wonder doesn't it, I seem to be the only person with this problem (at least as far as searching for other reports can indicate).

Either of you running on x86_64? I wonder if that could be it.

I have an arch x86_64, but it isn't really cooperating right now. But it did work last i tried. I'll see if i can get it up and running and verify that it works.

I have the same problem as Velophile. And also for archlinux x86_64.
