[MAC] Mac mini stuttering Audio in Dharma - Buffer underrun - StillSchweiger - 2010-09-14 Hi! I have some Problems wich Audio on my Mac Mini (ppc) + Dharma+ Mac OS 10.5.8 the Video (DVD AVATAR ) Starts to stutter After approx. 5sec. On the Info screen you can See that Audio Queue Drops from 100 to 0, but Video Queue is filled with99%. The DVD has DTS Sound, but due to another issue with DTS i do my Test with analog Output. Here is the log http://pastebin.com/V2xDyqqu still - bobo1on1 - 2010-09-14 The log url is missing a rather important part - StillSchweiger - 2010-09-15 bobo1on1 Wrote:The log url is missing a rather important part yep. ... it was getting late I fixed the URL - bobo1on1 - 2010-09-20 Looks like video rendering is somehow very slow, and after a while that will also cause audio to stutter. Maybe try with "sync playback to display" off. - davilla - 2010-09-21 NOTICE: GL: Shaders support not present, falling back to SW mode can you do ARB ? - StillSchweiger - 2010-09-22 I changed the video settings to ARB and video playback is now much more smoother, but i still have the stuttering audio. The problem occurs when audio output is set to "analog" and the audio is AC3 (e.g. when palying a DVD). If audio is MP3 then there is no issue (digital nor analog). So it looks to me that the conversion from AC3 into the analog signal is causing some issues, and that the audio queue can't be loaded fast enaough. BTW: If I play a DVD with optical/digital (Audio output) and the audio is ac3/DTS i don't get any sound. But this is described in this seperate thread - davilla - 2010-09-22 look at top when doing playback. what's percent idle ? - StillSchweiger - 2010-09-23 Here is the screenshot CPU is always 0.0%?!? So I looked it up in istat . When XBMC is down idle is about 90% if XBMC is running it is 0.0%. Even if I don't playback video . http://drop.io/gyh24am I did a similar screenshot with XBMC 9.11 where I don't have this issue http://drop.io/itnhp5c Here Idle % is also at 0% but the difference is that video queue is only filled with ca. 30% and audio queue is 99% (in Dharma it is VQ 99% aq 0%) - StillSchweiger - 2010-09-26 Oh ...and 2 more things that I recognized while testing. the audio Buffer underrun issue occurs in General with ac3 (analog as well As Digital Output) it is not a Network issue. i get the same Problem with playing the DvD locally |
