RE: recently added items not showing on home window - ronie - 2012-11-09 15:00

Running latest xbmc nightly and latest svn transparency skin on both my macbook and my linux box (ubuntu).

The recently added items on the home window show just fine on the mac, but not on the linux box. And if i switch the skin to confluence on linux, it shows the items just fine. It's been doing this for a over a week now, i was just hoping that it would go away if I kept updating. I even used a virgin .xbmc folder to see if that solved anything and it did not.

xbmc log -> http://pastebin.com/nRrdw7VY
Although I don't see anything glaring from there.

Thanks,
kossatzd

i'm sure you're not the only one who missed my post about it Smile

so for everyone having issues with recently added / recommended or random items,

**facepalm** i did a search i swear, but only for recently added, not random items. Works now. Thanks

Okay one last thing, the tv show banners don't seem to be showing up anymore when I'm inside a tv show. And on my tv show list, i refreshed some shows to grab their latest season poster, and now instead of the banner, it shows a squished poster.

a lot of things have changed in xbmc (and the skin as well) regarding the handling of artwork.
i'm sure there's still some bugs here and there, like this one :-)

i'll fix it right up.

Hi Ronie.
When skin.widgets script is enabled I get warnings in log about 'xbmcgui.lock()' and 'xbmcgui.unlock()'.
As these occur more than once per second the log gets rather full.

Debug log: http://pastebin.com/X1Tsa049

true, i created a ticket for it a few days ago.
the devs have fixed it in xbmc a few hours ago.

Hey Ronie, like your skin, was using it for monts now, but when I tried to update it said.. skin doen not meet the dependencies.. so I removed it to try a whole new install.
In the add on setion of XBMC it says the nightly skin is defect, so i won't install at all.

thanks

most likely because you've not installed the skin widgets script yet

Hi Ronie,
Installed the skin widged script, but the skin is marked as defect in the repository.

That's because the dependent scripts are not in repo. Even if you have them installed locally you can't install the skin because they are missing in repo.
We hope to get this working as soon as possible

hmmm.. could you follow these steps:
1) enable debug logging in xbmc (settings > system > debugging)
2) restart xbmc
3) navigate to the passion addon repo (assuming that's what you're using)
4) right click on the passion repo and select 'force refresh'
5) post your log on xbmclogs.com

the only thing i can think of is you didn't install the skin.widgets script correctly,
but i'll need your Debug Log to verify

RE: T! development svn for xbmc nightly builds - Marco275 - 2012-11-11 20:46

Hi Ronie,
Problem seems to be solved, earlier today the 'defect' notification was gone, so I was able to install your skin. Smile
Works fine now.

thanks for your response.

Just installed Frodo Beta and the latest T! SVN and I've noticed a lot of singles showing up in my sets.... skin or XBMC?

P.S. do I install the skin widgets script from the add-on install from zip or manually...?

This is by XBMC design and you cannot change that

when in doubt, check the behaviour in confluence :-)

definitely not skin if you ask me.
