#1 reason for having a web browser is to access ESPN3 adequately. I know Chrome and IE work. I'll be sure to give that Chrome Speed Dial a 'look-see'. I definitely want the best experience available (within my setup's capacity)!

When i Edit Launcher, shall i remove "-fullscrenn -autostart" and just have "/b /e "%rom%""

Dude read the wiki page as he said! It says there exactly what to do and what to have as your arguments

Where did you get the -fullscreen and -autostart from??

Yes... remove -fullscreen and -autostart. Dolphin did not know those command line arguments and so do not start.

There we go Big Grin
Now it starts.

Now i just have to find a setting that plays all games, if it exist.....

Thx again

Neat addon - but I can't get the data scraping piece to work.

I've got 'Poker Night at the Inventory' downloaded through steam - I can get it to launch just fine - but when I try to scrape the data from any source I get a popup that says
'No data found'

doesn't matter what I use as the title search criteria - and I looked on the sites for the different scrapers and the game is listed... so I'm not quite sure what's wrong...

Help?

@Angelscry

What app did you recommend to be able to pause processes from within a batch file.
Is it possible to add an option to chose if you want to hide or not batch files, current solution works wonderful (not even taskbar icon!) but sometimes you want the window to show when you have problems or something, useful for debugging now that external scripting is becoming the defacto option.

Anyways, good job, keep on with the good stuff

Do you have selected the right game system? Oo You have no results even using the Modify Info/Import From option ?

Microsoft PStools package as explained here http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=722688&postcount=1493

No, I will not add any options for debugging external scripts or applications. If you want to test your batch files, you just have to start them out of XBMC. Oo

I used 'IBM Compatible PC' and got nothing. it is setup as a stand alone launcher app - but because its a PC game I thought I could still grab the data from somewhere like Mobygames...

You will have to post here the content of your launchers.xml file, using pastebin service if you want a more effective help. But with the few information you actually give me, actually I can only suggest you this :

According to Google, by default, the executable filename of "Poker Night at the Inventory" is CelebrityPoker.exe. So when you try to grad data from Mobygames, Advanced Launcher is trying to found a game named "CelebrityPoker" on IBM PC System. This game do not exist... so you not have any result. What I can suggest you is when you grad data (manually or using semi-automatic mode) change the title to search. Replace "CelebrityPoker" by "Poker Night at the Inventory" and Advanced Launcher will be able to found the game.

That's actually only a supposition...

I'll post the launchers.xml file when I get home - I don't have access to it right now.

As for your suggestion - I had taken that into account and and told it to search for the title "Poker Night at the Inventory" - when that failed - I tried "Poker Night" then "Poker"... still nothing - even with semi-automatic mode on...

Ok... it would be too simple... When you will have posted your launchers.xml file I will be able to make some tests on my system and see what is wrong with this game. Wink

Ok here is my bat for steam games, works well, doesn't have the silly timeouts it used to.

Code:
@echo off

REM pause XBMC and call for the game startup

pssuspend XBMC.exe

start steam://rungameid/26800

set process_1="braid.exe"
set ignore_result=INFO:

REM check if game has started
:1

set var=notrunning
for /f "usebackq" %%A in (`tasklist /nh /fi "imagename eq %process_1%"`) do if not %%A==%ignore_result% set var=running
echo variable %var%

if %var% == notrunning goto :1

REM check if game is still running

:2

set var=notrunning
for /f "usebackq" %%A in (`tasklist /nh /fi "imagename eq %process_1%"`) do if not %%A==%ignore_result% set var=running
echo variable %var%

if %var% == running goto :2

REM resume XBMC and close steam

if %var% == notrunning taskkill /F /IM steam.exe
pssuspend -r XBMC.exe
exit

All you have to do is replace the url on steam://rungameid/26800. You can find out the steam gameid you need to use by creating a desktop shortcut on steam
