- mephistopoa - 2011-07-17 Well the speed improved quite a lot with Aeon MQ and NOX, but still feel a bit laggy. Again if I alto+tab and launch zsnes manually, it works fine. I've removed all the arguments from the command line to use only what is on zsnes.cfg and ensure I'm using exactly the same configuration launching from XBMC and manually. Do you think the alt+tab procedure works sort of like halting XBMC? I still can't imagine XBMC using lots of resources as the machine is easily capable of 1080p playback - Angelscry - 2011-07-17 mephistopoa Wrote:Well the speed improved quite a lot with Aeon MQ and NOX, but still feel a bit laggy. Your problem could be related to a difference in the screen resolution used when you start ZSNES. If when you start ZSNES manually the resolution is lower when you start ZSNES from Advanced Launcher (using command line) it could explain the difference of performance. You can try to use a .bat script to halt or close XBMC when you start and application from Advanced Launcher :
Version 1.4.6 - Angelscry - 2011-07-17 Version 1.4.6 : This new version of Advanced Launcher, add the possibility to donwload banners images from TheGameDB.net database. As for TV show, under XBMC, you have now the possibility to select between covers and banners for the displayed thumb images. Changelog :
- zugol - 2011-07-17 Angelscry Wrote:Which linux distribution are you using? Which versions of XBMC and Dolphin-emu are you using? Because on my system (Archlinux 64bit / XBMC 10.1-3 / Dolphin r7679) the escape key if working perfectly in all the cases (fullscreen or windowed) Do you have another application that is running at the same time that could capture the ESC key action instead of Dolphin? I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 (x86) with XBMC standalone 10.1 (Mar 9 2011) and dolphin 3.0.0 (cannot install the trunk). There is no other programes running. I juste have a small windows on top left that display xbmc running adv. launcher in a reduce way. (something like 800x600). If I disable the fullscreen xbmc option of adv. launhcer, I have no control on dolphin-emu but I can control xbmc... The problem doesn't occure under gnome... - followthereaper - 2011-07-25 Hey there, curious on how to setup folders for my roms. I would like to display all of the awesome SNES games and have a folder with the not as awesome ones (as to not crowd space). Anyone do this yet? - butchabay - 2011-07-25 mephistopoa Wrote:I'm using aeon65, not sure if it is still supported as I noticed now there is nothing on aeon forum regarding this version You may try this: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=674523&postcount=1 - st graveyard - 2011-07-25 Thanks for all the great updates Angel! Looks superb. - SiOuz - 2011-07-25 I want to make a file .bat who can execute others files (.bat). It's for to make folder who contains my pc games. So I have laucher.bat : Code: exec with argument "%roms" with the directory of my real *.bat of my games. It's doesn't work :S - Angelscry - 2011-07-26 zugol Wrote:I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 (x86) with XBMC standalone 10.1 (Mar 9 2011) and dolphin 3.0.0 (cannot install the trunk).Your problem is directly linked to the use of the standalone version of XBMC that make XBMC directly linked to X window. If you want to use XBMC under linux and also use external apllicastion with advanced launcher, it better tou have your windows manager and XBMC independant (like when you are under gnome). You can use a lightweight windows manager (like opdenbox) and directly start xbmc when with windows manager is started. - Angelscry - 2011-07-26 followthereaper Wrote:Hey there, curious on how to setup folders for my roms.Advanced launcher will only display the roms/games that are present into a same directory. Then you just have to create a launcher (indicating where are localised SNES emulator application, roms folder, thumbs folder and fanart folder). Then finally you will have to scan the roms/games/ folder to add the roms and scrap the related data infos and images. You cannot display under ALA games that are not present into you folders. - Angelscry - 2011-07-26 SiOuz Wrote:I want to make a file .bat who can execute others files (.bat). Then setup advanced launcher like this : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=File_shortcuts - SiOuz - 2011-07-26 http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=File_shortcuts Yeah I had already seen this link ! But I can't just select a folder for the Application, so i tried to select steam.exe, but with any sucess. Nevertheless i have suggestion for future release : - Get the rating of metatric (like steam when it's possible) as the section movie with imdb. - Set a different scrapper, thumbs, fanart, for differents "Standalone" or "File launcher" not only for the addon. But Great addon !! keep going ! - Angelscry - 2011-07-26 SiOuz Wrote:http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=File_shortcutsIf you just want to select/start 1 application create a stand alone launcher. Too subjective data. You can love games that other people dont like... and he opposite. Cultivate your difference. Also assign specific scrappers for each kind launcher is not a way to manage a games collection. If you fix scrappers to a specific launcher but with these scrappers you are not able to retrieve all the games/items of this launcher... what are you going to do? Ignore the not found game or try to retrieve the missing data with another scrapper? - SiOuz - 2011-07-26 Quote:Rating will not be implemented to advanced launcher. Too subjective data. You can love games that other people dont like... and he opposite. Cultivate your difference. Metatric is an average score, of critric review and user review. So it's a subjectif data that three-quarters of the population shares. It's not the "true" ok, but when you want to go watch a movie, you didn't look the different opinion of the movie before ? Like imdb or allociné ? It's not the "truth", but this is helping to make your choice(good or bad choice). It's my opinion. Quote:Also assign specific scrappers for each kind launcher is not a way to manage a games collection. Ignore the not found game or try to retrieve the missing data with another scrapper? Good point. But you can always manually associate with a local image. The problem, it is sources have each different data ( one for old games (gamefaq), one ohters for new game on new plateform). With my solution, i think in 80% games gets a covers (more that actualy) or not lol. Quote:If you just want to select/start 1 application create a stand alone launcher. I already took the contribution to fr500 (otherwise thx fr500). I have make some file *.bat of my steam games. In standalone methode, it's work very well. But I want to put (my different .bat of steam game) in the same folder (as when you past by the "File Launchers Creation" method, you get a folder, with your roms). Like application dolphin.exe with the name of Wii, and the folder contains the games). I try to have this , folder as Name "Steam", contains my .bat files of steam games). With the "File Launchers Creation" method, I have to choose an executable but I don't have. I don't can't just choice a folder. ps: sorry for my bad english :S - fr500 - 2011-07-27 SiOuz Wrote:http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=File_shortcuts I have two generic scripts that will work for you. For both of them you need sysinternals tools installed and on your path, so get this file and extract them to your windows folder. Scripts Sysinternals PsTools The first one is for steam games but won't group them, they'll all be on the root menu: Quote:@echo off All you need to do is create a REGULAR LAUNCHER for this script and in the arguments you put the steam AppID of the game you're gonna launch (more info on that below) and the name of the process that it must track (if you don't care about this use gameoverlayui.exe for all your games or modify the script to always track gameoverlayui.exe) to pause/unpause XBMC. It will also forcefully close steam after the game has ended. You can comment that out by putting a REM (REM taskkill /IM steam.exe /f) To get AppID first create a desktop shortcut for your Game Then select the properties of the shortcut you just created, you only need the number not anything else Now, if you want to group them together it's actually easier. First of all create a folder with steam desktop shortcuts (like the one we'd have created in the post above), Once you have the shortcuts create a FILE LAUNCHER and select launcher_regular.bat, arguments would be %rom% that is there by default and gameoverlayui.exe, be sure to select the fil path to the path where you put all your steam shortcuts, and select the rom type to .url. If you're gonna be using non-steam games with this you need to create shortcuts to the games, set the rom type to .lnk and fill the name of the process that the game creates as the second argument instead of gameoverlayui.exe, this can be tricky as many games have one .exe that calls a second one, you can find it using the task manager under process once the game is running. Failure to do this will result on XBMC not unpausing after game exits. You can avoid this too by commenting with REM this statement: Quote:pssuspend XBMC.exe to Quote:REM pssuspend XBMC.exe launcher_regular.bat Quote:@echo off You could set it to kill steam by adding: Quote:timeout 10 At the end. Good luck and reply here if you have any issues. |
