[/quote] Where is the command line for it and what must i enter there? It's not a rom, just original windows application. RE: [RELEASE] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Stampertje - 2012-05-29 Today i was planning to start adding program launcher, games and roms to my xbmc. My idea was to add 2 options in the main menu. - Programs: with links to firefox, ... - Games: with submenu's for pc games, n64 roms, ... After a bit reading the right way seems to be. installing advanced launcher -> duplicate plugin -> pc games with .lnk shortcuts (I hope this is right) But after i duplicated the plugin map and change the name in the files, when i startup xbmc i suddenly got a error in the randomitems script. I also only see 1 advanced launcher in the apps. I will think about and see what other options I have, thank you. My idea was to add 2 options in the main menu.Have you simply try to restart XBMC? Because you "manually" install an add-on, XBMC must be restarted to take new added add-on into account. As indicated into the first post of this thread, if you have a error message please post the content of your xbmc.log file using pastebin service. BTW, if it is the third party randomitems script that generate an error, maybe it will be a better move to ask randomitems develloper to fix the error generated by their script. Even after that, if you still not see the duplicated version of Advanced Launcher, so maybe you done something wrong during the Advanced Launcher duplication. And here again I will need to see the content of your duplicated files (using pastebin service) to be able to tell you what is wrong. Just map your STORAGE-CENTER as the network drive into Windows (for example Z:\) and so you paths will become z:\STORAGE-CENTER\Console Games/. You do not need to move your files. Just change the way to access them (network drive instead of samba server). RE: [RELEASE] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - ghostelement - 2012-05-31 Just wanted to give a heads up that TheGamesDB has support for ClearLOGO's for games now http://thegamesdb.net/blog/2012/05/weve-added-an-image-type-game-logos-clear-logos/ RE: [RELEASE] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - bzim - 2012-05-31 Hey Angelscry, I think I found a bug in advanced launcher. When launching a rom with multiple cds (such as Final fantasy VII), the %romname% variable contains the entire path (rather than just the name like it does without the .cd# extension). Removing the line romname = myresult[2].split(".")[0] from line 1296 seems to fix the issue, though I'm not sure if that breaks anything else. Further, I didn't investigate to see if any other variables were affected. Also (and this may be on purpose) when scraping image files locally (using the _thumb and _fanart suffixes) in a folder with multiple cd's, the filename has to contain .cd1 as well. For example, scraping Final Fantasy VII, the thumb name must be "Final Fantasy VII.cd1_thumb.jpg" to be scraped correctly. It would be nice if the file could be named "Final Fantasy VII_thumb.jpg". I'm not sure if nfo files are affected in the same way. Thanks for your help and for this great addon, bzim RE: [RELEASE] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Angelscry - 2012-05-31 (2012-05-31, 06:02)bzim Wrote: Hey Angelscry,Thank you bzim for your bug feedback. Its possible effectively that it still some small bugs into Advanced Launcher. I try my best by testing each version before release them, but it always stay some parameters combination that I did not think about, ans so still bug. I think removing the 1296, line will not break anything else. I will try to found time, this week-end, to fix this. It's also a good timing with the add or the gfur732's suggestion. Thank you... RE: [RELEASE] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - bzim - 2012-05-31 Hey Angelscry, I completely understand. Just trying to do my part to make advanced launcher even better! When you do have the time, please look at the second suggestion too (about local scraping images without the need for .cd1 extension). I also noticed that %romname% holds on to the .cd# extension. It would probably be better to strip that off. For example, I am trying to load a memory card using romname. If the .cd extension is kept, I'd have to have a separate memory card per disc in Final Fantasy 7, because it would try to load Final Fantasy 7.cd1.mcr for disc one, and Final Fantasy 7.cd2.mcr for disc two. Let me know if you need any more clarification. I really appreciate all the hard work you have put into this! EDIT: replacing line 1296: Code: romname = myresult[2].split(".")[0] with: Code: romname = romname[::-1].replace(ext3[::-1], ""[::-1], 1)[::-1] fixes most of the issues in my testing. The scraping issue still exists though. I hope this helps! bzim RE: [RELEASE] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Angelscry - 2012-06-01 Yes... Actually scraping and %romname% process do not make differences between filenames containing .cd# extension or not. I will also try to fix both this week-end. Thank you again for your feedback and your suggestion. The way you start an application with a command line is dependant of the application (game, browser, emulator, etc...), of your operating system (Windows, Linux, OSX) and of what you want to do with it (start into full-screen, open a specific file, start with a specific configuration, etc...). Advanced Launcher it just used to execute form XBMC the command line. RE: [RELEASE] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - Sgt.Stedenko - 2012-06-01 Hi there, This question must be asked before but is there a way to save the metadata .nfo as .xml? I tried converting but it doesnt work. Thanks in advance. |
