Death-Axe Wrote:Hmmmmmm how do I fix the 3do bit?

go to C:\Documents and Settings\%yourusername%\Application Data\XBMC\addons\plugin.program.advanced.launcher\resources\scrapers

open the "gamesys" file and delete the first row

The bug is now normally fixed by version 0.8.0.

jpreville Wrote:Does it remember what scraper you choose? for each Launcher? or you just switch it up for certain emulators?
No actually the Advanced Launcher did not remember which scrapers you have selected for each launcher. One reason is that you can use different scrapers for a same launchers. For example after making scan+info for new files, is you see that you miss some information you can add them using another infos scraper. Same thing for the thumbs or the fanarts. I have to think about it.

I have just finish the automatic thumbs and fanarts scraping. In the next days I will waiting the users feedback on it for bug fixing and also improvement. of this new functionality.

Could you give me more information concerning your problem. Which scraper do you use for the fanarts? Could you pastebin your launchers.xml file. You maybe have a mistake on your fanartpath. Thank you. Wink

I have a weird one. When I search for new files, in addition to all the roms, ALA detects a blank ROM out of thin air. It sits at the top of my game lists with a blank name. If I try to edit it, ALA gives me the option of editing the launcher itself. If I delete it, ALA deletes the launcher.

I'll see if I can add the log in a while. No time right now.

Yes... strange one. Give me also information about the game you want to add and the scrapers you use for the scan.

the auto import of fanart and thumbs worked great for me. ran it against about 100 snes roms to test, every single one worked!

It starts scanning my mame collection, stopps and there is nothing in the launcher folder at all. What gives?

I will need more information to help you. Do you have any message error? If so, could you please pastebin your xbmc crash log file and your launchers.xml file? Which scrapers do you use for data, thumbs and fanarts?

Actually when you make a scan the Advanced Launcher temporary store the rom informations into memory and only at the end of the scan recreate and save the launchers.xml file. If an error occur during the scan, nothing is saved.

Okay, right now I am unable to reproduce the bug where the addon adds bogus roms. The launchers.xml doesn't really tell me anything either. The entry for that game just features blank information. The file path for the game entry is just the folder path, and no file at the end. Right now the only launcher where there is a blank rom is for my MAME games, and that's because I haven't removed and added it again. If I did it would probably disappear, like it did when I re-added my Playstation games.

Would it be possible for the MAWS scraper to tag roms that function as bioses, and give the user the option of hiding those bioses from view in the game list? Bios roms on MAWS are all categorized as "BIOS", while games are categorized otherwise. You could get the information you need from there probably? My games list gets quite cluttered when the launcher adds bioses, and it adds them every time I search for new games in the folder. Going through the list and removing them manually is a bit tedious.

Yes, I think I can create a function that will first test if the Mame roms is a BIOS one. If it is detected as a BIOS, the rom will be not added to the list. This functionality will be probable available in the next version.

EDIT: Done !!!... Will be in version 0.8.2

I'm having the same issue. It errors out after about 10-15 files, and it doesn't seem to be any specific file that causes it, as I've deleted the file after the last good one and it still breaks. This is the error log:

10:46:19 T:3232 M:909541376 ERROR: Error Type: exceptions.TypeError
10:46:19 T:3232 M:909541376 ERROR: Error Contents: unsubscriptable object

TypeError: unsubscriptable object

Also, none of my files have cd1 in them, so I don't know why it's dying there. These are all mame roms. I was using the mame scrapers for everything.

Do you have some MAME roms filenames with 3 characters or less? Eek. It could create an error.
