Hi,

Angelscry Wrote:It is strange that you have "\\" on your thumbs paths :
Code:
D:\\Games\\Need For Speed Underground\\Need for Speed: Underground_thumb.jpg
. It seems to create an error into the refresh thumb cache function. Could you please pastebin your launchers.xml file. It may be will help me to identify the error source. Thank you.

thx for reply. Sorry for late answer! It seems my default fanart/thumbpath wasnt set correctly. will there be a option in the future to choose a standard path (like the app/rom rom dir or a other single dir for all thumbs/fanart)? i dont wanne choose the game dir every time again when i add a launcher Wink

Another suggestion is a quadratical thumb image to use wall view in some skins. I prefer aeon mq2 atm! Also it will be fine to choose the fanart quality, my wishes are 1080p or 720p scraped from google! I think an option like - only accept 720p/1080p images will be nice. Also its not implemented if the fanart is bigger than display resolution - fanart is not resized!

greetings

This option already exist. When you create a launcher it was asked to you in which directories where are or will be stored the thumbs and the fanarts. If the thumbs and the fanarts are into the same directory, they will be respectively named : romfilename_thumb.jpg and romfilename_fanart.jpg. If the thumbs and the fanarts are into different directory they will be simply named romfilename.jpg.

For what I know, actually only the Carmichael skin and Alaska.Revisited skin can display thumbs in formats (square, wide and tall). For high quality fanarts, yes I think I can add this kind of option to the google thumb and fanart scrapers. I will add it to my todo list.

yeah, but i must select the directories every time i create a new launcher, i prefer an option in pluginsettings,

- save thumbs/fans in launcher dir (where rom/exe)
- all in one directory [with directory input]
- select directory on your own every time

its only for savin time Wink

Ok, I think the error comes from the filename of the thumb : Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend_fanart.jpg. I think windows do not support filenames with ":" in it and so it create an error. I will try to fix this in the next version. Thank you for your feedback.

Concerning your thumbs ans fanarts path setting suggestion:
  • save thumbs/fans in launcher dir (where rom/exe): It will not works for stand alone launchers under linux.
  • all in one directory [with directory input]: It will create some file overwrite problems I you have games with the same name but on different game systems.
  • select directory on your own every time: That's the actual and more useful option.

I do not really understand what do you want to do with the thumb/fanart directoriesHuh

When you create a launcher, you MUST choose the directories for the thumbs and the fanarts images. Those directories can already contain images. If those images are correctly named, they will be automatically detected during the next scan. If the images corresponding to the roms are not detected, the scraper will download them from different Internet sources and they will be saved into the indicated directories.

Si it is not a good idea to change or modify those path after launcher creation because you will have thumbs and fanarts into different directories, and it will complicate your life.

I'm not at all a Windows/Flash game user but I can give you some clue. When you click one the game .exe file, does it start automatically into full-screen or windowed? If they start windowed that could be the problem. Have you the possibility to use command line to force the start of the game into fullscreen? Eek

But, the problem is that Flash games as exe are not really stand alone applications. They all launch through the macromedia player. Maybe you can try to use the macromedia player as emulator launcher and then use flash games as rom. Eek
