When I have the extension set to lnk (L) I can add items from the folder, but the shortcuts break.
When I have the extension set to anything else (ink for example), I can't add items, but the shortcuts work.
Mmmm... Ok... but it does not make sens. I have just checked Advanced Launcher code, and there no mistake into .lnk support. All are refering to .Lnk extention file and not to .ink files. So I did not understand why .ink files are working.

First thing you can try to indicate as argument %rom% only and not "%rom%" as indicated on the WIKI page : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=File_shortcuts
Also does the .lnk support option is activated in your launcher advanced options? It must be activated.

If I guess well, it may fix your problem.

Removing the quotations seems to have fixed it.
Thanks!

I am using Advanced Launcher to launch Spotify from within XBMC...works like a charm. Only thing that does not work is volume control when running Spotify. I am working with an app that controls the Alsamixer to change the volume. Alsamixer does however not effect the actual volume (neither within XBMC nor from Spotify).
Can it be scripted so that when launching a program via the Launcher that the Alsamixer is used?

You can go into Advanced Launcher settings > Miscellaneous > Launcher start options > and modify the "Action on XBMC playing Media" value. Normally is you put it at "Stop", XBMC and its audio engine will stop to control alsa and you may be able to use Alsamixer. If its not woring try the other options ("Let Play" or "Pause").

Tried all settings (Stop, Let Play and Pause), but no effect. Application outside of XBMC is not responding to changes in the Alsamixer settings. Are you sure volume control is released from the XBMC mixer back to the Alsa mixer? Any way to check this?

Btw: I also muted XBMC volume after launching Spotify app using the XBMC webserver: when exiting back to XBMC the volume was indeed muted, but there was no effect on the Spotify volume. This makes me wonder through which mixer the app volume goes...doesnt seem to be XBMC mixer eiter. So: not the alsamixer, not the XBMC mixer...I have no pulseaudio or whatsoever installed...

This is a dumb question but I have searched the forums and can't find an answer. I have the ACE skin installed. When I switch to the games section it shows default and then all the systems I created. If I change the Advanced Launcher settings to say "Hide Default" when I select games it just shows ... like attempting to go to the parent directory.

It seemed to do it in other skins that support a games main menu function.

Any ideas?

Ok... so your problem come from your XBMC/System configuration. Normally this XBMC 12.x problem has been fixed by version 12.2 of XBMC. Are you using this version? If so, check that your XBMC audio output is set to analogic (even is you are using a digital one).

Also... are you using PulseAudio on your linux system?

If so you can take a look here : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=85724&pid=1322276#pid1322276
If not, you can then take a look here : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=85724&pid=1376322&highlight=asoundrc#pid1376322

The problem is that since version 2.x of Advanced Launcher, starting it with the old classic method :

Code:
plugin://plugin.program.advanced.launcher

will not display anymore a list of launchers but a list of categories. The skins must have to be updated.

BTW, hardcoding the Advanced Launcher url into a skin to start games do not have any sense. Advanced Launcher is not only dedicated to games, but to all kind of application (browsers, readers, scripts, etc...). The better way, if the skin you are using support the creation of custom XBMC menu/sub-menu entry, is to create a favourite of an Advanced Launcher category (or launcher or item) and add this favourite as a XBMC menu entry. So you will have exactly what you want. But the old way to proceed is now deprecated.

Thanks!!!

To be sure: the sound DOES work perfectly in the application, but there is no means to control its volume.
Will try the links you have sent. I am working with XBMC 12.2....

Regrouping ROMs - Niegen - 2013-07-31

Hi all,

I'm currently messing around with Advanced Launchers, and am very pleased with the results so far. However, I have a few questions:

First, I am messing around with a zsnes launcher. I have the basics covered, the launcher displays my ROM collection, and run the emulator as intended.
However, I am not completely satisfied with the results the scrapers return in "automatic mode". For those familiar with them, my ROMs are using GoodTools names (ie: Final Fantasy III (U) (V1.1) [!].zip).
The issue is, some games are not always recognized properly. For instance, Donkey Kong Country (U) (V1.2) [!].zip is recognized as Donkey Kong Country 3.
So my question is, which scrapers and settings are you using for ROMs in GoodSets "format"?

Second, can you "force" the scrapers to parse the country information and retrieve the appropriate boxcovers/fanarts/whatever when possible?

Third, I was browsing the gallery, and I stumbled upon this screenshot:

Image

How do you do that! I haven't been able to find any information regarding that feature!

Thank you for your time! Et merci pour l'add-on!

Edit: I guess I could switch to the "No-Intro" ROMSet, but I'm not too sure I'll have better results...

Advanced launcher is not a Games manager but an Applications launcher, so you will not see any specific support corresponding to GoodSets or "No-Intro" ROMSet filenames support. Scapers results are based on correspondance between your roms filename and the games name taken from online database. There is no game named Donkey Kong Country (U) (V1.2) [!] so scrapers could make some mistakes to identify a game with this filename. If you want a XBMC add-on supporting such features it will be better to use RCB, that is more dédicating to games management : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=70115

For some scrapers (like Mobygame) you can define a prefered region for the covers (US vs. Europe vs. Japan) into Advanced Launcher settings.

Concerning multi-disc, multi-version support, differences must be indicated into the filename between brakets {}, like into these examples : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=85724&pid=1119085&highlight=rival+school#pid1119085

RE: [RELEASE] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC - xbmcmod101 - 2013-08-01

I have a question regarding how I would manually sort items using the Advanced Launcher in XBMC.

For instance:

I have three games sorted in this order: Super Star Wars, Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

You'll notice above that the games are out of order. This is do to the "THE" in Empire Strikes Back throwing off the sort order. I already file my games by moving the first "THE" in the title to the end with a comma (IE: Simpson's, The: Bart's Nightmare). However, I do not want to do this for the subtitles here.

So, is there a way to go into Advanced Launcher and manually sort items and move them to where I'd like them to appear in the list?

Thnx

It is not possible to sort items as you want into XBMC so it is not possibe to the same into Advanced Launcher. Instead of sort them differently, you could just rename Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back as Super Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back, The.

@Angelscry: Thanks a lot for the answers, it helped a ton!
I am well aware of the existence of RCB, however, I find it completely FUBAR. Maybe the problem comes from my XBMC install, but to this day I have completely given up on it.
