If you have your thumbs/fanart named correctly then it should use local images. example: romname.bin romname_thumb.jpg romname_fanart.jpg - daviduco - 2010-12-28 Ok i'll try it at home, thank you for your quick response =) - Angelscry - 2010-12-28 daviduco Wrote:Ok i have to try the new version and check if it downloads thumbs...If all your roms are into the same folder, indicate this folder when creating the launcher. Then into the add roms menu you will have the choise to scan and add automatically the roms, or doing it one by one (manual). For the images you will be asked where are or will be located the thumbs and fanarts images. Here you have 2 possibilities :
- jeff93063 - 2010-12-28 Angelscry, with 0.9.0 on Windows, I was having a problem with spaces in the rom path. I ran Process Monitor and checked the command line that is run when I launched a rom, and it looks like the quotes are being stripped from "%rom%". I tried doubling them but they still get stripped. Can you fix it? Thanks again for your awesome launcher, Jeff - Angelscry - 2010-12-28 jeff93063 Wrote:Angelscry, with 0.9.0 on Windows, I was having a problem with spaces in the rom path. Can you fix it?Yes I know this problem. I will fix it in the next days. I'm actually working on the command line support and testing a large number of different emulators to make the command line works with most of them. I'm really sorry for the actual problem. Initially I have not planned to release the version 0.9.0 so soon... but this version also fix some majors bugs. I you do not want to wait the next version you could edit the launcher_plugin.py file and manually replace this line: Code: xbmc.executebuiltin("%s(\\\"%s\\\" %s )" % (cmd, launcher["application"], arguments)) Code: xbmc.executebuiltin("%s(\\\"%s\\\" %s \\\"%s\\\")" % (cmd, launcher["application"], launcher["args"], rom["filename"])) and you will be able to launch applications under windows like for the previous version. Again... sorry.... - Evin - 2010-12-28 rbrohman Wrote:Try going into XBMC's file manager and adding the root directory as a source. It should then show up in ALA. After reinstalling/deleting Advanced Launcher, it worked. Tried it before several time without success. Maybe I messed something up. Don't know if it is a bug, but when selecting the path to the roms, I'm not able to select the folder. Everytime I try, it jumps to the "higher folder". Manuel Adding works, editing launchers.xml with the right path also is doing the trick. - Angelscry - 2010-12-28 Evin Wrote:Don't know if it is a bug, but when selecting the path to the roms, I'm not able to select the folder. It is not a bug, it is how work XBMC. ? - newmy51 - 2010-12-29 my completely separate thread was relocated to a single post on page 60 http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=674676&postcount=600 what gives? - Angelscry - 2010-12-29 newmy51 Wrote:my completely separate thread was relocated to a single post on page 60Maybe an XBMC forum administrator has relocated your post here because it was a post dedicated to Advanced Launcher Add-on. Solutions to your problem are below : XBMC for Windows : Bug with XBMC root directory access 1. give administrator rights to XBMC, 2. remove any CD or external drives from your system, 3. manually add sources into XBMC, 4. modify manually the launcher code. - Evin - 2010-12-29 Angelscry Wrote:When you are into a directory, go the the context menu and select OK to select the directory. It is not a bug, it is how work XBMC. Yeah, I know. I can't explain it better, thx to my poor english... :I The path to my roms is /home/xbmc/roms/snes/ But there was no way, to get .../snes/ as path, besides adding it to launchers.xml. - Angelscry - 2010-12-29 Evin Wrote:Yeah, I know.Strange. Which version of XBMC are you using ? What is your Linux distribution and version? - htpc guy - 2010-12-29 lindsayrg1 Wrote:Wow! Thanks htpc guy. Evin Wrote:Yeah, I know. Have you tried enabling hidden files and folders in the XBMC settings menu? - Evin - 2010-12-29 Angelscry Wrote:Strange. Which version of XBMC are you using ? What is your Linux distribution and version? Using "Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS - XBMCLive Dharma". @htpc guy: Yes. - nekoarashi - 2010-12-29 A bit off topic, is it just me or is there no metadata to be scraped from mameworld? I checked the main site and can't find anything rom-list related , any ideas where that information is hosted? Trying to scrape my mame-set of 3000+ titles.. @_@ - Legdiian - 2010-12-29 This looks fantastic! I'm trying to get this working with XBMC 10.0 running on OS X 10.6.5. So far I have only been able to get XBMC to launch the emulator (doesn't actually show the emulator but if I command-tab I can see it running), but not load a rom image. I have added ""%rom%" to the arguments section and it doesn't seem to help. Is OS X a supported OS or am I trying to do something that can't be done? I have tried SNES9x and BSNES if that matters. |
