- ali2k1 - 2011-01-05 Do you have any virtual drive or anything in cd or DVD drive if so unmount and try again. - HenryFord - 2011-01-05 Thank you, that did it (hat a virtual device mounted) - Angelscry - 2011-01-05 ali2k1 Wrote:Hi everyone, just a simple question how do I import files and images without scraping. There's three menu which one do I turn off. I want to import swf files. Thank youYou have to disable the 3 types of scrapers : data, thumbs and fanarts (automatic during scan option). Then you have 2 possibilities : scan for new files or manually add file. If you already have local images, put them into the directory defined as thumb_path and fanart_path and name them with the same name of your swf files (but with images extension) they will be added automatically. If not you will have to add them manually. - TheHazel3yes - 2011-01-05 I'm afraid I've got to make another wish even before my last feature request has been added: When using emulators one most always runs into problems how to map the controller right. Now with the Xbox 360 Controller (and in addition xboxdrv to perfectly adjust the controller) we're pretty close to perfect, only a pre-run-command option would be needed (that's been my feature request). Another really nice feature would be a game specific pre-run-command, so we can alter the xboxdrv arguments (just an example) per game. That way the analog sticks could be reduced to four-way-only controllers in games that don't need diagonal pointing - this could raise gaming experience big times in some games. Further I'm in contact with the developer of xboxdrv to talk about possibilities to restrict the bad D-Pad to four-way-only (think of Tetris!). I could imagine to have a general pre-run-command per launcher, which would be "overwritten" if another command has been set for the chosen game. I also think it would be more than enough if this feature would be available in the xml only - someone who goes that far will know how to work with an editor anyhow. What's your opinion about that? - ShAddX - 2011-01-05 You have this problem with which emulators ?[/quote] I have this problem for example in Fusion. I can see the Windows stuff flickering for about 2-3 seconds. Furthermore the sound is stuttering for 2-3 seconds when I exit the emulator. I don't know why but GameEx etc. doesn't have this problems. But I know it's quite hard/nearly impossible to make it perfect for every emulator on every system. - Jacksont09 - 2011-01-05 I just stated using Advanced launcher as opposed to regular launcher, since there seems to be more you can do with this one. However, on my launcher all my emulators worked fine, and launched the rom files without me having to manually select them, but with advanced launcher each of my emulators will load, but then not load the rom I selected. Yes I've checked the paths of the roms and they are all correct, and the file extensions are all correct too, and they all work perfectly fine on regular launcher. So any idea why it would fail to launch the roms from advanced launcher, when it works fine on launcher? Note: it seems to be looking in the XBMC folder, which is not where my roms are, but I can change the path if they need to be there. - TheHazel3yes - 2011-01-05 Jacksont09 Wrote:So any idea why it would fail to launch the roms from advanced launcher, when it works fine on launcher? You did add "%rom%" to the arguments, right? - Jacksont09 - 2011-01-05 TheHazel3yes Wrote:You did add "%rom%" to the arguments, right? just %rom% ? I did -f %rom% for the arguments for example for psxfin.exe -f "%rom%" However for any emulator, it only loads the emulator, no games. Would I do something different other than rom for say Fusion.exe I use zip files for sega games, would that change it perhaps? - TheHazel3yes - 2011-01-06 So you're on Windows... I think the latest discussion here showed that some had luck removing the quotes. Well, of course, whatever works best for you. At least for Linux I can say the quotes don't hurt. I'm not sure I got your last question right, but it absolutely makes no difference at all which file extension you're trying to add - the only requirement is that the whole command line (eg. "psxfin.exe -f game.iso" or "fusion.exe -xyz game.zip") has to be right. You can verify the right command line yourself by testing the command in the Windows Command Prompt. - juaduve - 2011-01-06 I still have same issue as HenryFord, cant navigate through my folders, i tried all 4 options from first page, but no luck. My RW-drive is empty and i try to uninstall my virtual device, but no luck too . More ideas? - Angelscry - 2011-01-06 TheHazel3yes Wrote:I'm afraid I've got to make another wish even before my last feature request has been added:As I have already explain you that it will be really more simple for you to do this using a .sh bash script file. Instead of directly launching the emulator using the Advanced Launcher you will launch this bash script. The bash script will first run xboxdrv and then will start the emulator with the right arguments. For your new request, before launching xboxdrv you could perform some tests on the rom name with the bash script and then start xboxdrv with the right configuration corresponding to the game. If you want my opinion... I do not really understand why you want me to add some pre and post commands for all the launcher, all the games (which mean integrate all those parameters to the launcher.xml file) when the simple external bash script of 4 lines can do the exact same thing. To be honest, I'm not really sure now that I will add the pre and post command line support to the launcher. - Angelscry - 2011-01-06 ShAddX Wrote:I have this problem for example in Fusion. I don't know why but GameEx etc. doesn't have this problems.Maybe because GameEX does not run under XBMC. ShAddX Wrote:But I know it's quite hard/nearly impossible to make it perfect for every emulator on every system. No effectively it is not really because this mean that you have to switch from XBMC to the emulator only when this last one is into fullscreen. It is not really simple to make fullscreen state test. It maybe be possible. But because all the emulators did not start exactly with the same manner, did not use the same fullscreen management, it is practically impossible the write a unique code that will support all the emulator. - Angelscry - 2011-01-06 Jacksont09 Wrote:I just stated using Advanced launcher as opposed to regular launcher, since there seems to be more you can do with this one.Have you already visit the wiki page about the XBMC emulators configuration? http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Main_Page Entering the right parameters into Advanced Launcher is not always enough to make the emulator works properly with XBMC. Most of the time you have to correctly configure the emulator or correctly modify its configuration file. - Angelscry - 2011-01-06 Jacksont09 Wrote:However for any emulator, it only loads the emulator, no games. Here it is the configuration information to use Kega Fusion with XBMC under windows. http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Kega_Fusion#Windows It still have some problem with some emulators. Psx is one of that. It is just because Psx is working with relative path and not absolute paths. So when you start Psx with the Advanced Launcher, it made it from the XBMC directory and Psx think that all its configuration files are into the XBMC directory. With the Advanced Launcher versions prior to 0.9.0 you will not have this path problems. But some emulators, like project64, will not work with version under 0.9.0. The manner to start command lines under windows is different for Advanced Launcher versions before and after 0.9.0. But to be honest not one of them completely satisfy me. I will still to work on it. - Angelscry - 2011-01-06 juaduve Wrote:I still have same issue as HenryFord, cant navigate through my folders, i tried all 4 options from first page, but no luck. If not it is a problem related to XBMC and not to the launcher. |
