Sometimes one must just read the instructions given Blush

Pulled in the thumbnails and fanart in an instant.

I like EmuCenter2 since one can launch almost any thing. Not yet checked to see if terminal/console is possible.
Handy site for emulators emucr

Since version 0.9.9 shortcut .lnk files are fully supported by Advanced Launcher. So you can put all the .lnk into the same directory and use them as rom files : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=File_shortcuts

Hey

I have just started fiddling around with this app and it seems pretty great!

I am having a problem with running an SNES game. I have read some of the other replies about the comma and it is still not working. Here is the filename of the ROM:

The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (U) [!].smc

The title of it in XBMC is:

Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past, The (I put the "The" before and XBMC stuck it at the end for display purposes I guess.

The arguments I am using are: -m -s -v 26 "%rom%"

I really don't know what it could be.

I am running Windows 7 on an Acer Revo with the latest stable version of XBMC.

Thanks in advance for the great app

It you want the "The" at the beginning of the titles, uncheck the "Titles Formating" option into the Data Scrapper settings menu.

Your command line seems correct. Could you post here please the part of your launchers.xml file corresponding to your SNES launcher and to the Legend of Zelda rom? I need it to be sure that you have configured your launcher correctly. Do you have a script error message? If so, could you also post here me the XBMC.log file

Bro, Is there any way you can have your own subforum for this launcher on these boards? there are so many questions asked, it is easy to lose track, not to mention get lost among all of the pages. A forum of your own would keep things organized, rather than have one big thread with all kinds of issue thrown in together. its hard to keep track. Hope it is possible.

Regards,

I'm agree with you. This tread is becoming really long. But most of the questions asked here have already their answers into the dedicated instruction manual page (http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-advanced-launcher/wiki/Instructions) or into the dedicated WIKI configuration page (http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Main_Page). I am not administrator of this board, but I could ask if it will be possible to add the dedicated forum as for the skins. We have nothing to loose. Wink

Btw I found out why the script.py kept failing everytime I tried to download an image with certain applications. It was weird, because it would only work with some applications and not with others. not sure if this has been posted. but every time I tried to download fanart for any app with a colon (Smile in the name, Ie: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It would fail. I had to get rid of the colon for it work. Same with every other app. Still a pain in the neck though.

Hey man.

Thanks for the swift reply. I am just going to post the whole launcher.xml because it isn't very long. What happens is that when I try to open the ROM my screen goes black and then i can see my desktop a little bit and then it goes back to the interface for the script. No script error or anything like that. Hope that helps and any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi all. Thank you for this wonderful plugin. I have a question.

First of all I wanna say I'm sorry if this question is a doublicate. Believe me I searched this thread up and down!

My question is why I cannot add imported thumbnails and fanart?

Let me elaborate: So I add a stand alone launcher without thumbnails or fanart. Then go to edit thumbnail then import them. Then a dialog comes to let me select one of the imported thumbnails. Well I cannot click on any of them!!!

Please help me. :confused2:

I'm Running Dharma the latest release. Also the plugin is latest. I tried this in portable non portable mode with a master profile and a new profile. No avail.

Thank you all in advance.

Normally it may works. It could be related to the skin you are using. Have you try using the Confluence Skin? Also, are you using XBMC Live? Eek

I can confirm, it's skin related ... not working in confluence and all the skins are based on confluence (like cirrus) ... i am trying to find out why!
Working well in Night ... till is not fixed, switch to night make your selections and then switch back to confluence.

Cheers

Strange yes... It works for me under Confluence but not under Alsaka.Revisited. I have try this under Linux but not under Windows yet. For the thumbnails /fanarts selections Advanced Launcher is using the DialogSelect.xml skin file. I will take a look closer at it this week-end. Added to my todo list.

Hummm... strange. All seems ok in your launchers.xml file and no error message. Maybe there is something wrong with the emulator configuration (for example the video mode 26 is not well configured). Have you try to start the zelda roms with zsnesw.exe only using the command line like this :
Code:
"C:\Games\SNES\ZSNES\zsnesw.exe" -m -s-v 26 "C:\Games\SNES\ROMS\The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (U) [!].smc"
Is it working?

I will take a look at this during the week-end. I have added this to my todo list. Can you give me more information how the error appear?
  • Are you under Windows, Linux, OSX, XBMC live?
  • How do you get the fanart : semi-automatic, automatic mode, manual edit ?
  • Which scraper do you use : GameFAQs, Google, MobyGames, MAMEWorld?
It will really help me, because actually I'm not able to reproduce your error on my system, and I do not know why. Thank you.
