You should just set wait state to true.

@Angelscry, process tracking for bat files still broken after the regression

Version 1.1.1 is EXACTLY the same than version 1.0.6... Eek Check you launcher configuration if the wait state true is activated. BTW... the wait state option will be definitively removed on next versions...

would there be a way to stop the movie playback automatically launch a Rom,
because if a movie is playing and I run a rom, it causes many bugs in my setup:

sound film in a loop.
Black screen when leaving the emulator
emulator freezes on launch
And other strange bugs.

Thank you.Nod
I will try to see if I can force XBMC to stop play any video or audio files before starting an application. But I have all to check if it is possible for example to listen music while you play a game. Coyuld be a good feature also...Oo

@Angelscry

Please add the ability to run emulators through special: / / (eg, special: / / home)

XBMC Special protocols are for XBMC related files or directories. http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Special_protocol
For example, under Windows you will not be able to access the Program Files directory using XBMC Special protocols. So why do you want to use the XBMC Special protocols to start emulators? Eek

So I guess you'll try to figure another way to track a process?

No... I will remove any tracking process an let users to it by themselves using their proper .bat, .sh or any other kind of scripts. Some people would surely call this as a regression of Advanced Launcher, but it will allows to have a real command line support under windows. I'm not sure that I will also keep .lnk support.

I don't understand, so by default XBMC will keep running (unpaused) and using resources while the games are running?

I am trying to launch boxee. When I try to, I get an error from boxee saying it cant find the correct skin version. I also tried launching a bat file to open boxee and I get the same error. If I open boxee outside of xbmc, it works fine. Is there any way to do this? I am on Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Yes, same as for the Linux and MacOSX versions of XBMC.

When you say "outside of XBMC" you mean by clicking in the Boxee icon or by starting it using a command line?

- xmurrx - 2011-02-10

I mean by just clicking on the icon.

Before trying to start Boxee from XBMC, try to start it correctly using the command line. If you are not able to start Boxee (or any other application) using the command line, it will not work under XBMC.

it works under command line fine. Its only when XBMC is involved it somehow crashes. I have tried it on three different computers too, all with the same result.

Ok... One possible solution is to use for example a launcher.bat script that will :
  • stop XBMC
  • start Boxee
  • restart XBMC when Boxee will be closed
