ReMi Wrote:Thanks .. but unfortunalely i'm using the XBMC-Live (UBUNTU) so this won't work for me...

Then this ALSA trick should work?

I use a similar asound.conf in OpenELEC to simultaneously output analog and hdmi. It won't work when using passthrough though.

I tried that and it works but not as expected.

My setup is as follows, HDMI connected to TV (2.0 only), SPDIF connected to DTS capable receiver (5.1 or higher).

Since it's configured as 5.1 and you'll play DTS material you will lose channels (no speech) on your TV since it's only 2.0. To fix this we should down-mix the HDMI output to 2.0 to have it working.

Did you actually read any of what you quoted or the reply? My suggestion had nothing to do with dual audio outputs, as the 2nd quote pointed out correctly.

Anyway just an update to this problem for the others that wanted the ability to switch audio outputs without extra windows steps, apparently my request is really implemented in XBMC already. I'm using WASABI Nvidia HDMI out as my main option, and by switching to WASABI SPDIF output, I don't need to change any Windows audio settings, as it dynamically outputs to the correct output just via XBMC.

Unfortunately changing Audio settings cannot be done via python script directly so instead I made a 2nd XBMC profile and set one to HDMI and the other to SPDIF. (I also made the SPDIF profile auto choose 24hz), I then made a button on my Harmony One to switch profiles and turn my AVR on.

So now I just hit "Master Mode" on my Harmony which gives 2.0 channel HDMI sound output to the TV (which it does by default).

Hitting "Movie Mode" on the Harmony One changes to SPDIF 5.1 sound checks the DTS, DD decoder mode options and also does Auto Refresh on the video side.

Then i just flick back to "Master" when I want sound thru the TV again. Sweet!

Hope it helps somebody, I can't see why it wouldn't work under Linux as well.

dibsta... thanks for this. I didn't test yet but one future on the new version on last post is the key future !!!...

Quote:Win7AudioSwitcher

Features
v1.0: Memorize default audio device based on primary monitor
v1.0: Auto switch audio when primary monitor change
v1.1: Command line option: Win7AudioSwitcher.exe <DeviceIndex>
v1.1: Hotkey audio switching with Ctrl+Alt+F1 until F12
v1.1: Menu option to enable or disable auto switching

Until now i use a AutoHotkey script to change audio devices but if this little program does what it says then is exactly what i need.

Cheers

As some of you are very creative with solutions for multiple audio problems, maybe someone has a solution for my situation besides this patch (: This is my setup: I have one desktop pc on which I use a program called Aster (by ibik) to login on two different accounts at the same time, both on their own screen. I use one account to browse and mail and such, the other user is assigned to my TV and is dedicated to XBMC. Now, I use XBMC combined with a stereo to listen to music on daytime, but my stereo is way too loud and 'bassish' for watching movies in the evening/night: all the other students in this flat would be able to enjoy the noisy parts. So, I'm looking for a method to easily switch to another audio-output or to use two audiodevices at the same time (I would turn of my stereo in the evening). A Alt- or Ctrl- key combination is not an option for me, while the XBMC-account doesnt have a keyboad; I use the android XBMC remote app.

Any help would be appreciated (:

ReMi Wrote:This patch won't work since XHBL modified the source of 10.1 (see start of topic)

Hopefully he will be so kind to make the same modifications for the Eden source
when the Final release comes available Smile

Yes, I will probably do it until the Final EDEN released.

I've never created separate profiles before. Any tips on how to set up a second profile with the different audio would be greatly appreciated. (I went to the wiki... no help). I am on Eden b3 for Windows.

Thank you (anybody can chime in...)

Got it!
I did have to re-enter info for Weather and Pandora.

Woot woot! That's made my day, I was torn between dharma with DA and all the new features of Eden.

Hi

I really really like your Dual Audio support... but it doesn't seem to be part of XBMC 11.Beta 3 .... do you have a bould with your Dual Audio included?

Really, you couldn't read even a few posts above this?
