I actually just think I figured it out. I changed skins temporarily and I think the whole issue was with just not saving the channel correctly. The skin I use the most doesn't have the best ui for the channel config. Thanks for the help anyway guys. I could have sworn I saved it correctly the first ten or so times I have tried this...

However, I do have one other small question. PTV has the awesome "next up: example" indicator. Is there any way to make it so that it doesn't say "next up: *movie trailer*" and have it announce the upcoming episode/movie after the trailer?

I think there is a setting on the 2nd page of the PTV settings that will let you turn that indicator off. The problem is it is either all off or all on. Check it out.

Mark

You are correct about the turn it all off or on thing. But I think I found the solution with your help. Below it has the amount of time required to be a "small video" I just upped the count to 300. Now it doesn't announce anything smaller than that, which I believe is all of my trailers.

Daavid: you are getting a crash, but its from the 1channel plugin. I'd suggest passing that log along to a developer of that plugin.

Do I really need to rebuild channels everytime I add more video's to xbmc? I am using playlist from Milkman so those list I believe are updated when I add new content.Huh

Set the channels you want updated to reset every x days... this option is found in the channel manager.

Jason, I would like to suggest a feature to have PTV either change channels or change to a set channel when playback fails... this way ptv can't stall if for whatever reason the media it is looking for is damaged or wont play...

RE: [RELEASE] PseudoTV (Video) Addon - Virtual EPG and TV Channel Surfing Script for XBMC - EZ1976 - 2013-01-30

since moving to the new build, the PTV crashes.
even just watching one channel , it will crash after a few minutes.
in the xbmc log i cant see anything special ( i though it was because he couldnt find the logo but it didnt matter).

anyway i can get the build before?
thanks

http://pastebin.com/BKsXDkeD
upgraded to the last build but still crashes
thanks

Looks like there is a lot of conflicts with other addons in XBMC. You may want to take out any addons that you may have and start with PTV as your only addon. If that works consistently, start adding your other addons one by one, testing PTV each time. You may find one of your addons to be causing your problem.

cool idea.
i will check.
the only difference is that i created the configuration file yesterday from scratch using the psuedo channel manager.
could the setting2.xml be the problem

I have noticed that any addon that tracks what you watch. Like tracktr or track.tv or follow.it cause problems with pseudotv. I think the fact that you can change channels so fast confuses the addons. Something to keep in mind.

Yep... its been like that from the beginning... also some modules like watchlist has the same effect.

Ever since Frodo I can't get PTV to load at all, it just gives me a 'script failed' error. Does this snippet of the debug log help figure out what my issue is? It worked fine under Eden, I'm on windows Vista 32, and running mysql

Yep... its been like that from the beginning... also some modules like watchlist has the same effect.

nope.
moved all plugins aside - still crashes.
i recreated the settings2.xml from scratch

directory channels - ok
tv genre channels - ok

playlists ? some ok some crashes

for example:
playlist "new" - only movies that year is greater than 2010 - works ok
playlist "old" - only movies that year is less than 1990 crashes xbmc

playlist "horror" - only genre horror - works
playlist "thirller" - only genre thriller - crashes xbmc.

without the playlists - it is working
with the playlist - as soon as it tries to populate the channel the xbmc crashes.

all playlists are accessible via xbmc and i can see all the movies listed ok.
so it is a weird PTV issue that cannot tolerate playlists?
is there anything new in frodo ? because all the playlists worked ok in eden.
maybe thats why playlists channels's EPG are off by two hours (not all of them)

http://pastebin.com/bRuPbCDx

again in eden it worked ok so this must be a version change in either frodo or Ptv
any help will be appreciated since the only reason i have xbmc is PTV
