hmm, I have ATV1, ATV2, MacBook Pro, MacBook, iPhone 4 and 2010 MacMini.... they all run XBMC but nothing beats MacMini. it is simply the best $600-700 that I spent
ATV2 is awesome, especially for $99, but you need a nas drive/smb share to store your movies on. if you liked ATV1 you are going to love ATV2, but if you are ready for an upgrade Mini is the right choice.
now, there might be an argument that something else will be cheaper/better value for money but I dont know them and cant comment on it.
