I tried apt-get update and then apt-get upgrade like usual but that did only update tvheadend not xbmc... - kojote - 2011-10-18 Kjetil N Wrote:Dushmaniac, i still have a blank screen - mezo - 2011-10-18 kojote Wrote:i still have a blank screensame here uxlaunch.log http://pastebin.com/6fvZMKXe - opdenkamp - 2011-10-18 revert to the previous build. just follow mr_blond18's instructions. I'll look into the uxlaunch thing. the problem is that I took a backport of uxlaunch so I could use the newer xbmc-packaging tree. which didn't work all that well for lucid it seems. I got to manually backport changes to the old dharma based tree of xbmc-packaging in order to keep lucid working, which is annoying. Where are mr_blond18's instructions? - beschmid - 2011-10-19 dushmaniac Wrote:revert to the previous build. just follow mr_blond18's instructions. I am using XBMC-live. uxlaunch failed to start somehow (didn't dig into it too deep). The log file located in /var/log/uxlaunch grew very rapidly to about 1GB within 5 minutes with the same line repeating that it was killed. I fixed it uninstalling uxlaunch and installing the old version of xbmc-pvr again. Somehow this isn't working for me. $ sudo dpkg -i xbmc-bin_11.0-pvr+p8~git20110812.5c6848a-0ubuntu1~stable46~lucid_i386.deb dpkg: error processing xbmc-bin_11.0-pvr+p8~git20110812.5c6848a-0ubuntu1~stable46~lucid_i386.deb (--install): cannot access archive: No such file or directory Errors were encountered while processing: xbmc-bin_11.0-pvr+p8~git20110812.5c6848a-0ubuntu1~stable46~lucid_i386.deb - meandor - 2011-10-19 hi, so my first try with cable and my dvb-c adapter didnt work... now i moved to a new province in germany and in my new flat i have satellite tv. can anyone tell me what hardware i should get? i want a usb dvb-s (2 -> where is the difference between dvb-s and dvb-s2?) for my linux machine so i can get tvheadend to work finally - opdenkamp - 2011-10-20 http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-S_USB_Devices http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-S2_USB_Devices - Bitcrusher - 2011-10-21 mr_blond18 Wrote:Instructions: This isn't working for me either. I can succefully purge uxlaunch and reinstall the previous version of xbmc, but after that all I get is the standard ubuntu bootscreen and then a login prompt. Whatever I try nothing helps. Any ideas are much appreciated. Try this to get XBMC started. 1. sudo apt-get purge uxlaunch (if you haven't already) 2. Restart, that should give you the prompt to login, so login with username and pass. 3. then type: startx That worked for me to get back into XBMC for now - meandor - 2011-10-21 dushmaniac Wrote:http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-S_USB_Devices do you have maybe good experiences with some of them or can give me an advise which one to get? or an recommendation? - JeroenM - 2011-10-21 I can recomend TBS-6981 if you have any spare PCIe slots available. I run 2 of those in an ubuntu 11 server with tvheadend. It workd great! Run it at home with 2 atv2´s and a couple of windows Machines. |
