I've also just noticed a bug.

If you have the Digital Out set to On rather than Auto in FrontRow on atv2 then video is unwatchable, stuttering and no audio. Turn it back to Auto and try again, everything is back to normal.

Although ISO files are read they don't play play for more than a few seconds...but it's a start and I'm happy to wait for it to be fully implemented.

Congrats to all involved, this is the first time since the original XBMC on Xbox came out that I've not had the XBox plugged in....excellent work.

After switching off this option 1080p is quite watchable on most files. I did experience an impact of the WLAN, though - via wired connection I had significant less dropped frames. Is there a Tool for the command line (Terminal) to measure the WiFi connection quality (send rate) and actual throughput?

ifconfig gives you packet counts, no other app I could find in the atv2 repo that does cmd line throughoutput measuring seems to be there, so you're on your own on that part. Dunno about the wifi connection quality as well.
But there is much less frame drop on wired of course. If you type 'o' in a keyboard (either via eventclient or bt keyboard or the little osx app that davilla wrote) you can see codec, dropped frames, etc.

Not really a XBMC bug if Frontrow was being picky.

R0MSTER Wrote:Greetings Meshuga,
First of all congratulations on updating the community with the latest and greatest AppleTV 2 fixes.. Now onto my question:

1- I have movies with embedded subtitles, the subs are detected but not displayed. They work fine on PS3 once you enable subtitles, this was the general case when subs were added on PS3, i was wondering if that is planned.
2- HD trailers from HD-Trailers.net buffer every 1 sec, i assume because they are not in H264, you can take a look at any movie with a trailer to reproduce (I am using The Carmichael skin) eg: 21, The Watchmen

Regards,

1. What type of subs? Embedded in MKV? We need a xbmc.log w/ debugging enabled if this is the case. If they are ASS its known already.
2. I haven't done that, but I have read somewhere on the forum you can cache the hd-trailers locally, so download one and see if it buffers that much as well. In addition xbmc.log will tell you the info of the codec.

No it's a divx with embedded AVI, i used this program to embed the subtitles, with either .sub or .ssa doesn't matter, http://www.calcitapp.com/AVIAddXSubs.php
I will get you the logs when i get home, i am at work right now...

As for caching, i will get you the information also later

Regards,

I just noticed that when you play music in the Frontrow interface and then launch XBMC the music keeps playing. On earlier builds XBMC would just kill the music. Even the OSD when the next song begins works. Nice going iOS XBMC devs!

Ok stupid question I know.
BUT I just want to clarify it for myself.

Do I need to install the official install for Apple TV 2, and then use your daily updates?
Or just use the daily updates from you without anything else?
Using the OP to install?

Follow the instructions on the 1st post. If they don't make sense, please don't install this build.

We'll need a sample, .ssa doesn't work but I believe .sub does. Cut off 100mb and upload it to dropbox and paste the link here.

Hi, here are the information you required:

Mediainfo here:
http://pastebin.com/yC5BiTeq

It seems the windows version does not work either, only few players support it, Divx Player from (http://www.divx.com) and you need to turn on subtitles, or PS3 itself, hope this information is useful, i will get you the logs soon, as soon as i find a way to transfer them to my PC from Apple TV Smile

Regards,

Regards,

Hrm, not familiar with DXSB. Do these files work in XBMC on mac/linux/win?

- keith - 2011-02-09

Updated 1st post.

Finally got my username changed! Smile I use this name on freenode, so it's fitting.

This build was to fix samba 'error 2' problems. I never had them, but someone did. XBMC-iOS is now on the current samba release.
You don't really need to update if you don't have this problems, nothing else was really fixed.

atv2+xbmc+hdhr? - Rll1 - 2011-02-09

Anybody using an HDHomerun with the atv2 xbmc port? The stream is extremely choppy and end up triggering buffering every couple of seconds. Does the atv2 just not have enough juice for it, or is it an optimization issue that might be solved as we get further along?
