Install BlueCop Repository using these instructions:
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW-TO:Install_an_add-on_from_a_zip_file_on_ATV2
http://code.google.com/p/bluecop-xbmc-repo/downloads/list

Under the Settings-Add On menu in XBMC, use the Configure option under the ESPN plugin. Verify/set these options:
Play in XBMC = On
User Custom User Files = On
Enable Login = On
Use your ESPN3 username and password.
Cable Provider = Time Warner

Update librtmp file using these instructions:
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Librtmp

Follow the instructions in post #1299 here:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=95053&pid=1151724#pid1151724

Make sure to also refer to posts #571 & #574 since it isn't clear how the userdata.xml needs to be formatted. I'm not sure if the cookies.lwp file is needed, but I put it out there anyway. In my case, both of these files had to be created from scratch.
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=95053&page=58

This is the part that was unclear to me. You need to replace your default.py file AND edit it to include your SWID and affiliate for your particular cable provider (captured in a previous step). The SWID has to be changed in two places. See post #1255:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=95053&pid=1130994&highlight=default.py#pid1130994

Exit XBMC back to ATV2 main page. Restart XBMC. Start ESPN Video Add In. Enjoy!

Many thanks to XBMC debs, Davilla, FireCore, BlueCop, rudawgr, dfa82, Ned Scott, and anyone else I may have forgotten.

Is there any way to replace the files mentioned without FTP'ing into my XBMC? I can't do it directly through windows?

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - TJM1985 - 2012-08-08

This is my first problem with my XBMC setup. I followed all the instructions found at http://www.insanehtpc.com/2012/05/16/how-to-install-espn-add-on-for-xbmc/. I am not sure how to check my logs on my Mac. Any suggestions? I know I am being kind of vague, but if you ask me to clarify let me know.

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - beschmid - 2012-08-15

Hey guys, I am wondering if there is anything I can do to make this addon work while I am on the road. I am getting script errors. I have Comcast as my ISP. What settings in the addon settings do I enable. I do have my SWIP in my userdata.xml file but I am not using a cookies.lwp file.

#1. Can you watch on watchespn.com?

#2 If you can you can watch in xbmc.

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - jlc403 - 2012-08-16

I can confirm that this is working perfectly (with above mentioned intermittent freezes) with a time warner internet connection and my old login from verizon fios (only have internet now, no cable) on an ATV1 with XBMC.

I used this default.py unchanged from this link: http://www.mediafire.com/?9lcrl67vcy6bzif

In addition, I also did have to use the cookies.lwp file When nothing was working, I did try to swap the librtmp file and this completely crashed XBMC - It would not boot and I had to change it back....

To be clear, for ATV1, I only used three files: user settings (i made via well documented instructions), cookies.lwp as created from this thread instruction with current dates changed, and default.py from the link...

It took me hours of trial and error to figure it out for ATV1 even with the great instructions in the thread...I'm not home now, but if anyone with an ATV1 is stuck, I will tell you exactly which folder to put the file in to get things up and running....Once I got the locations correct, it worked instantly.

I can assure you that I CAN watch watchespn.com. I can not watch it in xbmc. Nothing loads.

Ok.. I found a work around and I hope it works for you. Also, let me state that I might not have found this without the help of WildBill.

Before entering the add on:

1- high light the plug in
2- enter the add on setting (it's "C" for me on my keyboard and select add on settings)
3- I have to make sure that the "use custom user files" is turned on. Without it turned on I get a script failure when try to enter the addon.

Once I have entered the addon and I can see the content:

1- enter the addon settings again WHILE I'm in the addon. ( it's "C" again for me)
2- I then have to turn OFF the "use custom user files" (yep the exact same one I have to turn on to before starting the add on)

I have been watching with zero issues doing this. However I do have the above process each time I want to use the add on.

RE: [RELEASE] ESPN3.com Addon - beschmid - 2012-08-20

Can anyone with Comcast confirm whether you are getting ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU to work? I can view all streams from all channels in my browser, but in the addon I can only view the ESPN3 streams. My log,

ERROR: Playlist Player: skipping unplayable item: 0, path [plugin://plugin.video.espn3/?url=%26partnerContentId%3D506877%26eventId%3D%26contentId%3D&mode=7&name=SportsCenter]

After selecting the ESPN stream "sportscenter", the screen shows "ESPN Opening Stream", and that dialog will just sit there until I BACSPACE to the main menu.

Sounds like an NES cheat code, but I will try it. Thanks for posting.
