MikeLeone Wrote:I downloaded it from <http://hadm.net/xbmc/>, and then SFTPed it over to my AppleTV.

Hrmm .. I just did this today, June 18, and installed it, and System Info still says

XBMC PRE-11.0 Git:2011014-9ac7e4c (Compiled: Jun 14 2011)

I thought Keith posted that he rebuilt it on the 16th? Perhaps I was wrong. This is the same version that was having problems accessing the add-ons.

I will try again tomorrow, I guess. Perhaps there's just been some small delay or something.

Nope, thats the latest. I will upload a new one in a little while.

How can I solve this?
I'm using putty and ATV2 newest 4.2.2(2203)

Thanks

As stated in 1st post and a few down, I had to move my stuff to:

And I've uploaded a 6/18 build.

http://hadm.net/xbmc/

Should have addon versioning fix.

This build also has Memphiz's NFS Support! Please test it and let us know.

Topfs2 and Jmarshall's Dirty Region is also here, but is very new so test with extreme caution.

Amet got VTB working on IOS5 as well, but I suggest everyone to wait for final release before flashing with IOS5.

First impression: snappy menu's! (but it might be the new version placebo effect).
It did a complete library rescan here, video played fine. Seems like a stable version so far.

HBO intro (with the white noice) doesn't freeze or make video jerky afterwards but still needs a buffering there.
(known issue)

I have XBMC on an ATV1 and ATV2. I have the latest nightly build on both. When I'm browsing IceFilms on my ATV2. Going through the TV Series or whatever, it take a few seconds maybe 6 - 8 seconds for the next page to load. eg going from Popular to The Office (2005)
http://pastebin.com/5Q3hCkC7

This does not happen on my ATV1. It's pretty much instant.

Is this a ATV2 problem or IceFilms problem?

Just updated to 06/18 and installing any addons still crashes to the apple menu.

Video playback and sound are working fine.

OK, I've just downloaded this (file on your site shows as Jun 18, 2011, time 09:58. I SFTP it over to my ATV2 and "dpkg -i". Says it's replacing.

Apple-TV:/tmp root# dpkg -i latest_atv2.deb
(Reading database ... 3837 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 10.0-7 (using latest_atv2.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 ...
Setting up org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 (10.0-7) ...

I even reboot my ATV2 (using NitoTV). When I start XBMC, it still says it can not download information (I have it set to update library at startup, at least while I am testing). If I go to SystemInfo, it still says

XBMC PRE-11.0 Git:20110614-9ac7e4c (Compiled: Jun 14 2011)

What am I doing wrong? The date did change for today's update, right?

- Stiffler - 2011-06-18

MikeLeone only thing I can think is that you've already got a file in that location called latest_atv2.deb and when you SFTP'ed over you either didn't put the 18th build in the folder you are running the dpkg in or you didn't overwrite?

Can you point us in the direction on how to test the NFS part ?
Cannot add it under Source add video, is it just in the sources.xml and then as a format nfs://ip/Share ?

Btw Thanks so much for your update today , just upgraded from the orginal one to the jun 14, which was broken and then saw that you had pushed a newone ! awesome !

- keith - 2011-06-18

Hold off on testing NFS. Seems like I might not have compiled it in right.

Also, is anyone else having remote mysql database issues?

I have a MBP running latest nightly(6/16) of XBMC OSX w/ remote mysql fine, but the atv2 wont use its same advancedsettings.xml, crashed on startup, xbmc.log says nothing interesting..

Also doesn't look like the broken addon problem went away.

Anyone else have this issue?

No, no file in /tmp named "latest_atv2.deb". I will try again, and put it in an entirely different folder ...

Apple-TV:/ root# cd /private/var/tmp
Apple-TV:/private/var/tmp root# ls -la
total 39336
drwxrwxrwt 4 root wheel 204 Jun 18 11:51 ./
drwxr-xr-x 28 root wheel 1088 Jun 15 20:20 ../
drwx------ 2 mobile wheel 136 Jun 18 11:26 MediaCache/
srw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 0 Jun 18 11:20 hidmonitordsocket=
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 40277818 Jun 18 11:51 latest_atv2.deb
drwx------ 2 root wheel 102 Jun 18 11:20 launchd/

Apple-TV:/private/var/tmp root# dpkg -i latest_atv2.deb
(Reading database ... 3837 files and directories currently installed.)

Unpacking replacement org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 ...
Setting up org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 (10.0-7) ...

Exact same problem. Still says 20110614 ...

There was no latest_atv2.deb in this folder. I even downloaded it to a completely different folder on my laptop, and then SFTP'ed it to a completely different folder on the ATV2. And yet it still thinks it's the 20110614 version ...

I suppose I could completely uninstall, using NitoTV, and re-install the rleased version, and then try and update again. But I don't understand why this is not updating properly ...

Try uninstalling the current build, then just 'dpkg -i latest_atv2.deb'

when in doubt, rm -rf /var/mobile/Applications/XBMC.app' will make it go away for sure. Smile

After you've installed the official build at least once, you have all the dependencies, so if you uninstall you don't need to install official again when installing unofficial.

I've never installed the official, I've always installed the nightly only, could this cause any issues? When I try to manually install an addon from a zip file I get a dependencies not met error.

However in the past I've done the same (I have 2 ATV2's) and haven't had any issues?

Not in my case ....

Apple-TV:/var/mobile/Applications root# pwd
/var/mobile/Applications
Apple-TV:/var/mobile/Applications root# ls -la
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 2 mobile mobile 68 Feb 6 19:58 ./
drwxr-xr-x 8 mobile mobile 306 Jun 15 21:05 ../

Is the .app located somewhere else?
