I can also confirm that scrapers appears to be working just fine. (It's quite slow, but at least not failing out that it can't connect) Thanks for the work devs!

jacaru Wrote:Hello

One of my files (m4v) is giving me problems. At some point previous to 10.0.9 I was able to play it. But since then I always get a crash when trying to play it library mode:

Log -> http://pastebin.com/YLM49mxm
MediaInfo -> http://pastebin.com/WTqeYuCy
CrashLog-> http://pastebin.com/KXzQhBsC

On file mode, I don't get the crash but playing the file reports an error:

Log -> http://pastebin.com/MUNrDhB6

BR.

Why don't you cut up a sample file and dump the URL here? I'll try it on my setup.

+1 first thing to notice about the new build. Thank you.

+1 - Yes, thanks. Everything I need is working fine now. Especially happy to have the shared database back up and no more scraper stalls.

Oh wow, maybe I can finally stop storing standalone .srt files for my subtitled media! Big Grin

Thanks (again) to all involved with all the improvements we're seeing Smile

Just curious, does anyone else find that the official 10.0.9 build was the fastest in terms of GUI performance (especially poster / banner loading) and time required to start playing a file?

There has been regression in those areas. It appears fanart and posters/banners aren't being cached. Not sure what commit caused this though.

As for the delay starting media, that's got me stumped.

I've had a similar problem with XBMC and delays for certain media (but not others on the same share) on iOS, Mac OS X, Windows, on and off for at least a year (so in both nightlies and in stable Dharma). The location of the shares even change and the problem seems to pop in and out. Could be the same thing fluffylob is experiencing.

I keep meaning to actually find out -why- it's happening and investigate, but I guess I kind of forgot about it since it kinda became normal and didn't happen all the time. Probably a network thing. Maybe. If I get around to it in the next few days I'll post a link here to a new thread in the General Help forum.

While in general I get the really slow fanart loads I have noticed when I use the Transparency nightly skin occasionally I will get a few (4 or 5) images that load immediately as if they are cached, not sure if it's doing anything differently to the other skins.

- fluffylob - 2011-07-19

Thanks guys - I'll run some tests using the same media on official vs nightly. I'm pretty sure it was consistent but nothing speaks the truth like logs.

Might be a good excuse to play with NFS again anyway Smile

I actually just noticed this too but I also noticed that "Extract Thumbnails and Video Information" in Settings\Video\File Lists somehow got turned back on and turning it off made the covers fetch

- fluffylob - 2011-07-19

I've done a little further testing. Consistently, the 18-07 build takes between 25 and 30 seconds from the point of clicking on a file in the library to playback starting. Official 10.09 is between 4 and 6 seconds - the logs back this up. My test file was a Handbrake created m4v of the movie 2012 (it was the first in the list!!). I'm using the refocus skin, but I see the same behaviour in confluence. Oh, and I checked to make sure that "Extract Thumbnails and Video Information" hadn't been reselected when I upgraded, but it was still disabled.

Logs below. You'll have to forgive all the Thumbnail related errors, it seems to be to do with the path substitution to a SMB share. It all works properly, it just fills the logs with carp.

10.09 Official build debug log: (interesting bit starts 12:16:50)
http://pastebin.com/Fw5VymCV
18-07 Nightly build debug log: (interesting bit starts 11:55:24)
http://pastebin.com/pmqdSRBV

Anyway, having to wait an extra 20 seconds isn't the end of the world , it all works eventually Big Grin

Yes agree with the slower performance but prefer the gain in scraping capability. Am on skin Rapier beta2 which is still quite brisk.

http://hadm.net/xbmc/ down ?

EDIT: nevermind

I too noticed that it loads about 4-5 fanarts really quickly, but then when you scroll down to others it still takes a while to load.
