Openelec dont support Pulse Audio. Only OmxPlayer. OmxPlayer dont include support for menu sounds.

4. Can support for HFS+ (OSX) be added to openelec in order to be able to

I currently see no events in /var/log/* when the OSX formatted USB is plugged
even though the LED on the device notes getting power - at a min a dialog
should note the action and note that the drive is not readable or similar.

I can unconfirm no 3. AirPlay works fine here.

So when compiling Openelec from source I see the following "summary of configuration" listed prior to commencing the entire process,

The options file within the RPi source tree notes this 'HFS Tools' with the following comment "build and install hfs filesystem utilities" - so does the above "Install HFS Tools" relate to the topic/question noted or is it referencing something different ? If its a question of HFS vs. HFSPlus, well there are already linux solutions and packages for that.

In short, is there HFS(Plus) support or not ?

The compilation process grabs various packages from the openelec.tv's sources directory from the web, so there are files listed there akin to,

My question relates to those "hash" values (I'm guessing they are hashes) after the name - what do they point to ? I was not able to find a 'FF434FE' hash within the XBMC git tree and I'm a bit baffled as to what this value relates to as far as what is being pulled from GitHub. In other words, how can I take that FF434FE and transform it into a valid XBMC hash to know what has been pulled.

I'm having trouble with watching movies on my RPI with openelec 3 RC1. movies stop after certain time 3 min/ 40 min/ 50 min. then can't seem the get past that point in the movie.
the movies are all 1080p from various release groups. they are stored on my NAS running Ubuntu 12.04 and are served to the RPI via NFS.
when I watch a TV series I dont have any trouble, episodes are all 720p different series runtime 20 to 40/50 min with those files I don't seem to have an trouble. can watch episode one after another without XBMC stopping the playback and going back to the library view.

In the log found these errors with debug info. the full log is available at 01_XBMC.log

the files play normally in VLC/MPC-HC and XBMC 12 RC3 on my windows PC. anyone know what I need to do to fix this?
I really hope this is fixable else I'll have to sell the RPI and look for a zotac or something

I don't think the Pi can stream 1080p, mine stutters with 1080p content

@dvdgorila 1080p playback is fine, some movies play till 30/40/50 mins without stuttering or anything, they just stop playing and xbmc returns to the library view.

Can you copy a problem file to scard or USB stick and see if problem still occurs.
Can your prodcuce a cut down sample (e.g. 200MB) of a problematic point in the clip, check it still fails and post it somewhere (e.g. dropbox).

Only the GUI is 720p in official build. HDMI mode and Video will both be 1080p.

Does it affect the Pictures viewing? I believe they are also rendered in 720p and scaled to 1080p.

RBEJ- I'm using your custom version and I noticed that when I went to the system info menu CPU usage was always around 90% just sitting on the menu page. I had a USB HDD plugged in, in case that accounts for high CPU usage from constant USB polling?

Why such high usage? Is that normal? thank you.

btw: 1080p playback with DTS (to an external decoder) is flawless, thank you.

SSH in and use the "top" command instead. That will show the true CPU usage.

Picture are displayed as part of GUI, so will be at GUI resolution (720p).

@popcornmix, which software is good to cut the movie? Can't put the whole movie on USB cause I have a 8gb stick and all my movies are 10gb+
I'll try and test when I cut up the movie and put that piece on USB.
