[RELEASE] Sickbeard XBMC - Control Sickbeard from XBMC
(2015-06-18, 12:01)oWarchild Wrote: Good news, I've just starred the project Wink

I'm affraid I've never developed any kodi addon so I don't know how to add libraries.

Thanks. It installed and worked okay for you? Currently the cast members are not showing up in the show and episode info window. I'm working with the author of the "script.module.metahandler" library to see why it isn't working for me. He says it's working fine in other addons, so I'm not sure what is set wrong at the moment, if it's my code. Can you confirm if he see cast members when displaying show info?

Does anyone know what the best or usual way is to deal with required addons that aren't part of the official Kodi Repository? I'm using two library addons from a dev that goes by the name Eldorados, that I'm using to pull the show and episode data from theTVdb.com. His libraries were pulled from the official Kodi Repository due to not being used by any official addons. So I have yet to learn what the best way is to deal with the importing of remote libraries. Do you simply tell the users in a text file that they need to first download and install these other addons manually? Or is there some other poorly documented approach that allows for importing a non official required addon? I'm also learning how to create a repository, and thought maybe it's acceptable to include someone else's addons in your own repository, which might at least make it easier for the user to find the library addons. If anyone has some constructive insight into this I'd appreciate the advice.

I'd be glad to host all the add ons in my repo. :-)

I created a repo for the SickRage add-on I've been working on, which is a fork of Zach's work posted in this thread.

It can be found on GitHub at:

https://github.com/Hiltronix/repo/

Or a shorter direct link for adding in the Kodi/XBMC File manager would be:

https://hiltronix.com/xbmc/

I haven't had a chance to try it yet... Blush

BTW, I just came across https://github.com/frdfsnlght/KODI-SickRage in some random google search. It would be great if all efforts would be focused on one project...

Ok, so Sickbeard, Sickrage and Sickpotatohead all don't work for me on Kodi. It seems that this is still being developed for Helix?

I've been working on a SickRage addon that is a fork of the work done by the author of this thread. I mentioned the repo for this addon a couple posts up, by I'll past eit below.

Maybe that will work for you. I'm still working on it, and updating it every few days.

does this work with sickbeard, or just sickrage? I just got a new skin that I like that has popular tv shows as a widget, and selecting the show gives the option to add to sickbeard... unfortunately I can't find any information on what it's supposed to hook to. The original addon from this thread does not seem to do anything when I select 'add to sickbeard', but the addon from your repo at least tries to do something when I select that option. However I always get an error about something along the lines of expecting a string or something. I tried to configure your addon with my sickbeard info and was able to see my subscribed shows, but clicking on upcoming episodes or other options would come up with the same string error.

I don't have SickBeard installed, or I would test against it and see if it's possible to be made compatible for both. I use SickRage, develop for and test against it only right now. Sorry the addon it doesn't work for you. Perhaps if I find the time I look at creating compatibility with SickBeard as well. So far you are the first to ask. There are likely differences between the two API's that I'd have to research and see what's different.

oh that's okay. your version just seems to be the most updated and the comment you quoted asked about sickbeard/rage/potato so i was hoping it was cross-compatible. Seems like sick rage is all the ...uh, rage these days. maybe I'll look into converting over.

@lazyboy0172 I actually don't know what's more popular these days, SickRage or SickBeard, when I tried the two, SickRage seemed to work better for me, and seemed to have the features I wanted. But if people are using SickBeard, and someone was willing to be patient, work with me and test compatibility on their SickBeard setup, I'd be willing to make an attempt at cross compatibility.

So if someone wanted my addon to work with SickBeard, I'd suggest you install my addon, keep it up to date, post exact details of what is not working for them on the issues section of my github repo for the addon. Don't post the issues on here.

My SickRage addon Issues page:
https://github.com/Hiltronix/plugin.vide...age/issues

Post the version of SickBeard you are using, the version of my addon you are using, and details of the specific issues and error messages, and the steps that lead up to this issue.

FYI, I've added support for SickBeard in the SickRage addon version 1.2.3. If anyone has interest in this, please try it out and give me some feedback. If you have an older version already installed, be sure to go into settings and change "Server Type" to "SickBeard", as it defaults to "SickRage".

oh, thanks so much! I lost track of this thread but looked it up again today for a friend that actually had sickrage and saw your comments. It seems to work in that I can see upcoming episodes and what shows are set to record, but I am having an issue with adding to sickbeard from extendedinfo script. I'm not sure if it's an issue with sickrage addon or with extendedinfo... I went to a few shows and selected add to sickbeard, and it brought up the sickrage addon and searched for the show, I was able to select the show, but then it came up with an error:

http://i.imgur.com/yJD7ZcX.png

It's a very weird error since every show I tried (true detective, clipped, american ninja warrior, and america's got talent) gave the error "anime" but none of those shows are anime... I didn't try an Anime show, but will when I get home this evening just to see. Is this an error in what sickrage is searching for or trying to add, or an error in the info that extendedinfo is sending over? Is it something I can fix or can be fixed on your end? it seems odd that it can find the show, but the error occurs when trying to actually add it. Any ideas?

First make sure you are on the latest versions of both addons. The version of ExtendedInfo that has the correct link to my SickRage addon will be 3.0.1. In 3.0.0 I believe the link was to the original addon of this thread. Next check the version of the SickRage addon, the current one is 1.3.4. Version 1.3.3 had a hard coded link that was generating errors for everyone but me, and is fixed in v.1.3.4. The error you are getting is likely misleading from what the issue might be.

Please check the version numbers and make sure they are current, ExtendedInfo v.3.0.1, and SickRage Addon v.1.3.4 and let me know if you still have a problem, and we will figure it out from there.

Thanks.

confirmed versions 3.0.1 for ExtendedInfo and 1.3.4 for Sickrage. Tried again and same error.
I wasn't able to try adding an anime because I haven't seen an anime show on my AZ widgets that bring up extendedinfo to test.
Here are some images of my process so you can see what I saw: http://imgur.com/a/z8E7J
and here's a debug log if you want to see more into the nitty gritty. this log should be just starting kodi, immediately going into a show's extendedinfo and trying to add to sickbeard, the error, and then exiting kodi. http://pastebin.com/BQ6GdsnM

Thanks for the debug info. I've actually deleted one post and I'm editing this one, where I had lots of chatter and questions. But I'm cleaning that all up, and making this much clearer.

I don't think you said, but you are using Sickbeard, and not SickRage as the server backend, correct? I found the issue. It has to do with a lack of testing I did for Sickbeard, since I focus on SickRage. The problem should be resolved if you update to SickRage Addon v.1.3.5.

The error comes from the lack of there being no "anime" fields in what it is trying to retrieve from the database when using Sickbeard, instead of SickRage. But that is resolved now.

I hope 1.3.5 works better for you. Please give that a try and let me know.
