Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows
Quote:It depends if you are bitstreaming or not. The volume of a bitstream will always be the same. If you're not bitstreaming, mixing with LAV Audio and/or FFDShow is possible.

I'm honestly not sure if I'm bitstreaming or not. I have a LG NB3532A soundbar that supports DTS and DD. The majority of the content I've ripped are in one of those two formats, but the sound is still noticeably lower when using the DSplayer. I think the crisper sound is just a placebo, but my sub is more punchy (in a good way) when using the DSplayer than it is with the built-in player. Might just be an effect of the overall volume.

Here are screenshots of my audio settings in FFDShow.

Edit: Just realized I can adjust the "Master Volume" in the volume tab to increase the sound. I'm a bit weary of this though since I don't want to take the risk of blowing one of the speakers in my soundbar.

ReClock also uses high quality resampling and is much easier to use. You are not bitstreaming based on the images shown.

I'd try ReClock. Uncheck every format in LAV Audio and output in resampled PCM.

I´m so happy that i found this build.
To use MadVR with the best Media Browser.

This is such a awesome work from you guys.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH Smile
I´m really happy.

So now.
I want to use Dmitri Render. I tested it. It´s the best for me.
It´s registered but not recognized as external filter in Kodi.
Does anyone use it, or can help me?
in MPC-HC it works

Sorry for the noob Question: Can you suggest me a remote?
Which one do you guys use.
My PC is behind me, would be good to have one with a good receiver, and one which is up 2 date, so that it is easy to configure Smile
I need to access the menus with the arrow button, start stop, forward, backward.
And i have to enter the zoom menu.

And i can´t find a saturation controller. I need to add some saturation, more colors...

Maybe you can help me with this "few things"
Thanks and greetings Smile

No, Dmitri Render.

I suggest a Harmony remote: 220677 (thread)

madVR has controls for color saturation.

Thanks for the infos.
Got it to work with the kore remote app on my handy. I LOVE IT
Much faster then browsing on the screen.
But i miss that typical zapping feeling Big Grin

Hey, I'm using it too and it works ok.

In KODI DSPlayer section you need to switch in "Filters management" to "Media rules and Filters configuration"
then in "- Filters configuration" -> "Add new filter..." -> "System filters list" -> "DmitriRender"
You'll prolly need to set the "filter type" to "Extra filter" and save filter changes
Now in the "Filters configuration" it should appears as "DmitriRender (dmitrirender)"

Switch back "Filters management" to "Internal filters"
now you should be able to add "DmitriRender (dmitrirender)" to one "- Extra external filter"

Hope it helps.

Dear sir, you are my hero. IT WORKS Smile
Thank you so much.

Now i need to reset my MVR settings. Kodi overrided them. i have a backup and let them now untouched from kodi.
Works. You can setup Kodi, not to touch MadVR settings
Then you can adjust the image, Filter saturation in MadVR settings with MPC-HC.
When you play it in Kodi, its the same image
Very nice

I'm not using LAV Audio. These are my current filters in mediasconfig.xml.

Code:
<source filter="lavsource" />
            <splitter filter="lavsplitter" />
            <video filter="lavvideo" />
            <audio filter="ffdaudiodec" />
            <extra>
                <extra filter="ffdraw" />
            </extra>

Current LAV Audio settings:

https://gyazo.com/ecb0a274bd2d7666a2f75107122cb44c

I'm about to change my audio filter in the xml to lavaudio.

EDIT: Changed my audio filter from ffdaudiodec to lavaudio and now both icons show up when I play a video. Not sure if one overtakes the other or if they cancel each other out.
EDIT 2: Changed this (https://gyazo.com/19d951c6dc0e48e5dbe7c5f2d5a8a8d3) and now all is well when playing local files. For some reason, DVDPlayer merits aren't working so I'm watching TV with the soap opera effect. It's not bad, but I like to be able to see buffering stats when watching livestreams. Some YT videos won't play at all. I downloaded the playercorefactory.xml from the link in your sig. Even tried changing DVDPlayer to VideoPlayer. Neither works. I'll figure it out. Thank you for your help.

You da man! My pcf before switching to yours was the exact same thing minus the video=true and it didn't work. That's weird but it works now and that's all that matters. Thank you,

Hi guys.

I've recently upgraded to RC1 of Kodi 17 Krypton. I gotta say, I love it - for the most part.

But unfortunately RC1 has introduced some rather boring problems.

It seems to be related to calling OSD during playback. It simply crashes Kodi with the notice: "The application Kodi has had an issue." - Or something along those lines. It has the same kind of error box madVR seems to utilize.

To walk you through the steps:
1. I start playback.
2. At some point I want to pause the playback. OSD is called and it works fine (for a few minutes into the movie.)
3. I resume playback.
4. I need to go to the toilet, 14-15 minutes into the show, so I pause playback, OSD is called but before it shows up the renderer (or player) crashes and takes Kodi with it down.

In Jarvis I had similar issues but I could solve it by going through all the rendering tickers in madVR such as; use separate device for DXVA or presentation, use windowed presentation, use 11 instead of 9 and so on.

Before Krypton RC1 I had a golden setting in the rendering window that made everything work. How ever, disabling everything and then trying one ticker at a time, this is not the case in Krypton.

Something is going wrong when the OSD is trying to show up after it has not been displayed for a while into playback. This is rather annoying when I use the "UpNext plugin" and when ever it's about to show up, it ****'s up the player and crashes everything. It also happens, like I said, with the regular OSD. So it seems to be a drawing issue on top of the player.

Now, I have been using DSplayer for a long time now and I know no one is currently developing on this besides the occasional updates we get when we're moving to new versions of Kodi, I am simply reporting these issues because I hope some one who has been doing similar troubleshooting and perhaps found the cause.

I'd appreciate any help I can get. And I have assumed, as you can hear, that it's something in the rendering and parsing control to OSD. If you lot have any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I am on the latest madVR install (from madVR homepage and I believe it's 32-bit.) So everything should be up to date. nVidia drivers are the same. Smile
- It's all content, not limited to a certain container or resolution. Smile

I have tried both Windowed or exclusive fullscreen.

I output audio with my default sound device so that shouldn't be an issue either.

I do understand that there might not be any solution to this and that DSplayer is slowly going downhill when issues like these happen that has not happened prior. It's sad to see but I hope we can find solutions to these sort of issues ourselves and jrig this to work. Smile

DSplayer is lovely because it utilizes OSD, and as long as team Kodi refuses to do hardware rendering directly in Kodi this is the best bet as MPC is external and the lack of OSD is horrible on an HTPC with CEC control for ease of use from the couch. I tried going back to the new player in Krypton but it's still booty butt-cheeks compared to a renderer that utilizes the GPU.

Happy New Year to all of you,
/CuraeL

EDIT: I installed Krypton without DSplayer and installed everything 64-bit, LAV, MPC, madVR and SubFilter and set it all up and added MPC-HC as external player in Kodi and now everything runs smooth as butter. Amazing. But I'll have to make do without OSD it seems. Silly. But that's life. I can't stand this anymore, lol. It's been too long with weird issues in the DSplayer implementation. I hope one day to return and see it all working, and I'm so sorry I can't contribute with coding or anything to this project. I'm sad to see this happen as it's so much cooler to implement it into Kodi instead of this silly MPC-HC external thing. :/ I bye bye CEC control.

Something to do with the "Threshold for pitch correction" option in the audio menu?

i tried various numbers but i still get chipmunk sounds.

It's a setting in system > audio > Threshold for pitch correction

It's a setting in system > audio > Threshold for pitch correction

That setting doesn't have anything to do with DSPlayer.

then what setting will fix it? That is the only setting that says pitch in any menu.

I'm not sure. I don't understand your problem. The sound is too fast after fast forwarding? Try Sanear instead of ReClock.

Is there a way in dsplayer to play just 2 channels instead of 5.1?

Right now I have to make changes in the lav audio so that I could hear the dialogue. Otherwise, all I could hear are sound effects.

In MPC BE, you could change this in the settings no need to make changes in lav audio
