Have you looked into changing the DPI?

You can simply set the screen res in XBMC to whatever you want, and when you run it it will change the res...
I have my windows desktop at a lower res, then when XBMC starts up, it changes to 1080p

If you're using WIndows 7, you can set it to scale everything up 25 or 50% larger, for use on screens where things appear too small. I think Vista may do this too but I never used Vista.

Yeah, I already scaled it to 50% larger but my tv is a 34" so I still have to squint like crazy to see from across the room.
If XBMC changes the resolution when you open it then that will solve my problem.
I'll give it a try.
