I know this is an ATV2 thread (and sorry for posting here) but im going crazy too on a macbook with the exact issues listed in this thread

Am hoping someone resolves this and is the same for my macbook-

Processor 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB

mkv crashes as soon as I start movie - subtitles are off - some mkv's started to play after i disabled hardware acceleration but it was inconsistent, meaning sometimes they worked other times they did not - but for the most part mkv's crash XBMC as soon as they start (no picture is ever shown)

MKV's are about 6G
