Hi!

I want to move my cheap-man's htpc to a new chassis. I already have all that is needed: matx board, g210 nvidia card, and 3 hdds (3,5 inch).

I want to replace the chassis to have something that looks nicer and is quiet. Silence is the priority. Maybe i should call it the silence to cash ratio....

I'm between these two:

Considering the stock fans mounted and the same atx power supply, which would be quieter in your opinion? Which would vibrate less? Which seat can I taaaaake Smile

I know both have only space for 2 3,5 hdds. I want to mount the third one in some 5'25 to 3'5 hdd mounting kit. I dont need an optical drive.

Oh, maybe you have some better ideas in the same price range?

I've also found this new version of the Silverstone Grandia:

silverstone grandia SST-GD06B

Anyone has any experience with that? Considering stock fans, is it quiet enough to be a htpc?

I just bought one of these. I won't have all the internal parts rounded up until next month, but I'll post my experience once I start the build.

Impression of the case so far is that it's beautiful (love the clean front, when closed) and solidly constructed.

WOW, thanks for answering. Could you please check if it is possible to squeeze two 3,5 hdds inside the chassis apart from the hotswap bays? One should be above the psu, second below the cd/dvd drive.

This is the last question for me between this and the antec....

Why didn't you go for some other chassis? Availability or some missing feature?

I'll check and get back to you.

The big thing for me was the clean front (no USB ports, lcd screens, big logos, etc). The lock (while certainly not a serious security feature) will be great with kids I figure. And I saw a Youtube build video that made it look like it was a fairly easy case to work around in.

Ok, i've ordered the antec nsk-2480. The price was the same as the grandia 06, and the antec came with the earthwatts psu that I hope would be better (quietter) than the one i have now.
