[WINDOWS] XMBC Doesn't Have "Resume Playback" Feature

When I had XMBC on Linux (yes, again, to those who read my other thread), it automatically saved where you were on a movie when you hit STOP, even if you reset the computer. The windows install doesn't seem to do this. I'm not sure if it's a setting that I missed or what. Help?

It certainly does save the resume point.

A debug log will show that it is doing so.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

It's had this feature for years. post a full debug log

works fine even in the nightly builds - I use it several times a day.

Maybe you weren't far enough in to the movie for it to be remembered.

you need to go to video settings/filelists/ and set the "default select action" to resume.
i've just had the same problem as i have just moved from the xbox to windows and was baffled by this at first too.

The default for that setting is "Play" which will prompt if you have a resume point available.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.

but it only does this in certain places from what i can tell, is that correct?

like if i hit play on the remote by selecting the movie, it just starts over again, but if i go in the library and select it, then it will resume.

Got it. Deleted the movies34.db file and let it rebuild because it had done some wonky things the first time around with the scraping, and that solved it. Thanks! Smile
