XBMC supports Flash, including RTSP, but apparently not compressed.
To find out why XBMC won't play a stream turn on debug logging (System settings, System, Debugging), attempt to play the stream then look at the log file. See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_File for the log file location.
For example, when I tried to play the SWF stream you mentioned above, the log file contained the "compressed not supported" error.
