[AppleTV2] Overclocking
#1
Hi all,

I wondered if anyone has tried "overclocking the ipad" on the ATV2 to keep the processor at max speed and get a better performance in the xbmc gui.

If we find some valid information it can be added to the AppleTV2 FAQ.

Is it worth to disable the power scheme to get max speed if possible?

Code:
ssh
cd /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PowerManagement.bundle/
mv com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist SystemPowerProfileDefaultsBACKUP.plist
reboot

Cheers and awesome work on the AppleTV2 port of XBMC Smile

As far as I can tell, the CPU always runs at max clock on the atv2.

So, is it already over clocked?
Can we change the CPU from a4 to a5 ? Does it fit on apple tv?

nope, it is not like an intel or amd chip (there is no socket), it is soldered onto the board, and I am sure there are some differences in the amount of traces used on the A5 vs. A4.
