Would be cool. Currently all my Netflix comes from the PS3 app. As much as its a win for Linux, its probably more of a blow for Microsoft and Silverlight. If not for Netflix who else even uses it?

It makes sense that as Netflix becomes something you access on more devices they would want to move a platform that does not have the word Microsoft in front of it. HTML5 is more futureproof for a company that sees itself as a "one stop shop" for content on a range of different machines, cell phones, ipads, whatever.

It sure would be handy to be able to play a Netflix video from XBMC without having to use a binary plugin.

Netflix on the PS3 has 5.1 surround sound, at least for some movies.

But is that "true 5.1/7.1" sound? Or is it just "up-mixed" by the Ps3 or your sound system?

True 5.1, since October. Source: http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/14/netfl...-5-1-surr/

Now if only we could get something like that here in the UK. It is a game changer indeed that it is 1080p and 5.1 DDp (I would still love a full on losses DTS HD-MA)
