Hi

Whenever I try to install an addon, I get the error "Can't open the database Addons as it is a NEWER version than what we were expecting!" !

The problem probably stems from the fact that I started using XBMC with pvr, but after some time I decided to uninstall (it was too unstable for me) and use the latest official release.

Now my question is how I can reset or rebuild the addon database ?

Just delete the addons database and XBMC will rebuild it then next time you use XBMC. You'll find the addons database in your profile folder. You don't say which OS you use, but http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Profile_Directory will tell you where your profile is.

clarification: the addons db idea is a good one, and it worked for me, also. the file (addons.db) in question is located in the userdata subdirectory under the profile folder.

took me a bit to figure that out (dur).

like the others supposed, weeks ago I had updated to a nightly, but backed out when it was causing me problems. deleting the file, then relaunching xbmc, got me back on my feet, nothing lost.
