where do i place simple scripts & how to execute from front end?

i would like to place a couple of bash scripts, but allow the front end (somehow) to initiate these scripts.

where do i place the scripts?

can i use bash, or does it have to be python?

which setting allows me to execute this by navigating to it using the remote? i.e. under the programs menu or something?

basically, first script is to allow me to restart the airplayer python script. seems to struggle following suspends or hibernates. "sudo /etc/init.d/airplayer restart" is all i need...!

hope not so simple i will get flamed by half the forum! haha. all links and searches i seem to find are from couple years ago and may not be applicable with add-ons anymore (for all i know) or there maybe a newer preferred mechanism...

Hm, I guess the quickest non coding way is to use the executor add-on. In the method I recommend to use to start firefox from the executor is actually launching .sh that fires openbox+ff. Of you cource anything can be put in the script.
